All will become clear as more is revealed...and with my imagination, maybe this story will stay interesting until September. For those of you who missed season 1, Anna is Anna Espinosa, K-Directorate's go-to person for wetwork and other not-so-nice stuff...she and Syd had a few really good fights and I've always wanted to have her back on the show...so I put her there...here...whatever. Now...chapter 5 is short because I'm really tired...but there will be much updating over the weekend...wheeeeee!!!
Chapter 5
When Syd hit the trampoline she didn't even register that someone was pulling her off it. She didn't even register that she had fallen; she was completely in shock. Two years? How could it be two years? She glanced from side to side...was that Will...and Weiss? As she got into the van she could have sworn it was Dixon and Marshall inside, but that was probably just her very overactive imagination taking control. The door swung closed just as Vaughn dove into the van, shooting his pistol behind him as he yelled "DRIVE, go go go!" Dixon put the pedal to the metal and peeled out only a fraction of a second before Anna reached the curb, and coughed on their exhaust.
Vaughn could barely make her out through the tiny rear window of the van, and only watched her long enough to make sure they were cleanly away; then he turned to Syd and enfolded her in his arms, soothing her now-panic stricken cries. Dixon drove them to the airport as fast as they could, with Marshall on his laptop watching sattelite footage to check for taps on the vehicle and oncoming traffic. Weiss and Will tried to keep busy packing everything else up for a quick exit, but they couldn't help looking at Syd more than their work. *She was back,* they all thought at the same time. And she was.
It wasn't until they were safely up in the air that they each let out a sigh of relief...they were bound for LA on a private, checked out plane...nothing could hurt them til they landed. They were tightly clustered together, Vaughn with his arm around Syd, Will at her other side with Dixon and Marshall each holding one of her hands. Weiss sat between her feet, making his funniest faces trying to bring her back to the present. She didn't laugh until he was cross-eyed, nose pushed up by his thumbs while the rest of his fingers waved like wings next to his temples and his tongue was twisted in ways none of them had ever seen. "Yes!", he said..."I got Sydney to laugh at me....score!"
Syd raised her head, still very dazed. "Will...Marshall...Dixon...Weiss.......Vaughn..." The last word was so soft it was almost a caress.
He replied. "We're all here, Syd...we've missed you."
"uuummmm....yes...ummm....Miss Bristow....Sydney....well, ummm...it's ummm great to have you ummm back....we...ummmm....never ummm stopped trying to ummmmm well ummmmm find you..." Marshall trailed off, unsure of what to do or say next.
Dixon jumped in, "We're not going to ask you any questions...we're just going to accept the fact that you're here and sooner or later you'll tell us what you've been through." He smiled, anything to help her relax.
Will added, "We're here for you...and feel free to interrogate us...I just want to have all my teeth when we're done, ok?" She laughed...remembering that terrible mission to Taipei that had so changed her life forever.
She turned to Vaughn, he smiled at her and squeezed her close; they were both thrilled to be together again...but terrified of those two years. "So," she tried to sound normal and it almost worked, "what kind of trouble have you guys been getting into?"
as always...read, review enjoy...I don't have time to do PMs tonight sorry...but I'll try to do them before I leave in the morning
