Sci-Fi Revolution (NBC)

[spoilers]

Watched the third season premiere, and was surprised that they carried through with the intent of the ending from season 2. Didn't see that coming either. A refreshing change of pace that the characters wouldn't miraculously save the day somehow, just in a nick of time.

Very odd turn of events in this episode. Especially when I though they'd killed off one of the main characters for good. Given that they did that in season 1, I was expecting him to stay dead...oops.

Also not sure why, given that one of the main characters has taken on far more numbers, why he would have have just given up like that.

Still not a fan of big gaps in the timeline that have to be filled in along the way...

Anybody else think the direction the writers are going with in regards to the nanobots is a bit... strange?

Extremely...also, if the preview is accurate for next week's episode, not sure why they kept one of the major characters around for only a few weeks.

I am starting to think that the fireflies are just trying to get Aaron on a cross-country sight seeing trip. :D

One would have thought that with the nanobots/fireflies self-aware and all-knowing, that they would have decided to kill all the bad guys on Earth without prompting. Of course, that's assuming there would be anyone left.

In hindsight, when Aaron told the nanos to "Kill them all!" and they obliged it makes me wonder how they decided who the "all" was to be included.

The direction they're taking is getting stranger and stranger...and the writers seem to be trying way too hard to push across their opinion of religion/faith. Based on the previews of next week, there's a chance they might reveal what the nanos hope to achieve with the cross-country trip.

Watched the first episode after the Olympics...seemed to drag on forever, in my opinion. Also tended to be a bit predictable with the "dogfight" scenario. Ending was a bit weird, though...

Yeah, the "dogfight" conclusion was predictable as there was not any doubt that both of the characters will be around for a while.

Did you see the preview for next weeks episode? At least the writers realized that The Matrix comparisons would come and made a reference to it.

I must have closed out of the recording before I saw the preview...either that, or I just can't recall what I saw...

Unfortunately that kind of describes the last couple of episodes that have been a bit meandering in direction.
Indeed...and the "twist" they put in at the end of the most recent episode was far too obvious for my liking. I certainly hope it improves...

I literally had the exact same experience. First two episode had good ideas, but they weren't perfect. Part of the problem is that, in my opinion, episode-based shows aren't nearly as effective as those with continuing storylines throughout the series. Compare Person of Interest, a decent show, to 24. The latter is, at least in my opinion, far more gripping than the former.

I have to admit, while I watch & like Person of Interest I didn't care for 24. For some reason I couldn't get into it; if it is Netflix I'll give another try at some point.

It is on Netflix. Maybe try it again from Season One? I'll admit that a few of the middle seasons drag, but four on is great. I forget which one this is, but there's one in particular that was such a huge deal that there was a two day event held for it wherein two episode came on back-to-back one night, and then two more the next. It was like a four part episode, and it was sold on its own, seperate from the rest of the season. And let me tell you, those four parts were BADASS.

Try it again, in a new unit of time.

Revolution has been picked up by NBC for a second season. If you have not been watching out of the misery of broadcast networks cancelling shows, you are good to go to watch season 1 now. ;)
It did not make it to a third season though. Even though the second season was average 7.3 million viewers it wasn't good enough for NBC to keep it.

Darn...they've canceled it?
And they were just getting into some interesting plot threads... :(

I did watch tonight's episode, thinking that it was the series finale. Turns out that's next week...which is good, because they left off right when things were getting exciting. With the ads for next week claiming that we'll find out "how it all ends" (and that it will be the series finale) it should be interesting.

Yeah, I'm pretty curious as to whether the shows writers had enough warning to properly end the series or if it is just a typical season finale where some questions are answered but others are left open.

Between the nanobots, the war between the Patriots and the rest of the former US territories, the relationship between Miles & Rachel, Tom's quest for vengeance against the Patriots, and Monroe's quest to return to power, they have a lot of territory to cover in just 40~ minutes.
