Rated PG for language….

“Tell him.” Lennox commanded. The man gave him a foul look but turned to Vaughn, “my name is Will Tippin.”

“Will?” Vaughn’s eyes widened. “Will, I’m sorry we had to meat this way, I’m Va-Michael.”
“You say that as if you have herd of me.”
“Well I have. Sydney has told me a lot about you.”
“How do you know Sydney?” Will gave Vaughn a suspicious look.
“She’s my girl- I mean, my coworker.”
“Oh, so you work at the C- I man the bank too.”
“Oh cut it out!” spat Lennox. “We know that Michael Vaughn here is dating and planning on marring Sydney, we also know that Vaughn and Sydney work for the CIA, well at least, they did.” Vaughn and Will looked at each other “look, enough small talk.” Lennox signaled, Francie who reached he hand out and picked up a role of fresh duck tape. She pulled a long strip off the role and cut it with her teeth. She slapped it on Will’s mouth, making an effort to try and ketch some of his hair in the glue. Vaughn looked at Lennox.
“What happed to Francie?” he asked watching as she ruthlessly placed an other strip of tape over Will’s eyes.
“Well...” sneered Lennox.
“I think I’ll tell this one.” It was the first time Vaughn had herd Francie talk, her voice sounded a little deep for a woman, but he quickly forgot this, as she started to talk. “First of all…” But she was interrupted by Lennox.
“Maybe you shouldn’t tell him this.”
“It doesn’t matter, he won’t be alive long enough to tell anyone.” At this remark Vaughn’s eyes widened to their maximum and he leaned as far forward as he could. Francie continued her story. “First of all, I should tell you that I’m not Francie, not even close. My name is Nathaniel Grayham.”
“Nathaniel, isn’t that a guys name?” Vaughn teased.
“Why yes it is, I’m so glad you pick up on that, I was wondering how I was going to tell you that part.”
“You can’t be serious!”
“Oh yes I can, fascinating creatures, women, they are so much different then men, you have no idea.”
“I don’t want to know.”
“Oh but you will, but before I tell you your fate, let me fill you in a little bit more. I work for a little agency called K-Directorate. The Helix project was tested on two people, Enzo here, and yours truly. Amazing how we are now working together isn’t it?”
“Yeah, sure is funny how the world works.” Mumbled Vaughn “I don’t want to hear any more.”
“Oh, but I can’t stop now. You don’t know the half of it.” Suddenly, out side a door slammed shut.
“What the hell????” Lennox flung himself from the wall and walked over to the door. The sound of hurried footsteps and hushed voices filled the room shooing off the walls. Vaughn opened his mouth to speak but received an eye piercing look from Francie. Lennox turned around and looked at Francie. He mouthed something to his partner and Francie nodded She went over to Vaughn and quickly untied the ropes holding his arms and legs down to the chair. Vaughn was able to stand up. Francie handed him his gun and pushed him off his chair. Francie quickly rebound herself in the same fashion as she had done to Vaughn. Vaughn quickly lifted his gun and pointed it to Francie when the door flung open.
“Vaughn?” Jack screamed. That was when Vaughn realized what they had done. Lennox was looking at Vaughn with delight as if shooting Francie would release a giant treasure like a piñata. Will was still clueless with his eye sight gone and Francie was sitting in the chair, her dagger safely hidden on her ankle. A look of faked fear filled her face. It looked as if Vaughn and Lennox were in this together.
“You, you did this?” Jack stammered.
“No!” Vaughn lowered his gun.
“You shot my daughter??” said jack, refusing to hear what Vaughn was saying.
“No! No!” Vaughn pointed at Francie and then at Lennox. “It was them, they framed me!” Suddenly Weiss walked in.
“You found them… Michael? What are you doing?” he looked at his friend in disbelief.
“Weiss, this isn’t what it looks like.” Vaughn stammered not knowing what else to say.
“Take them away and free the victims.” Jack looked at Vaughn, “I never thought you would do this. I trusted you.” Weiss walked over to Vaughn.
“Sorry dude.” Weiss slapped his handcuffs over Vaughn’s wrists as an other agent did the same to Lennox wile jack freed Will and Francie. They were all carried off. The room was left silent. All except for the faint pleads and screams coming from a helpless Vaughn.

Chapter twelve

Sydney sat on the end of her hospital bed. Her hand gently rested on her stomach which was now covered in baby blue t-shirt and black pants. Her father had brought some spare close when he came. He grabbed them when the doctor told him she was wearing her old combat clothes. The doctor soon walked in and Sydney looked up.
“Hello Miss Bristow.” said the doctor as he checked his clamp board.
“Hello.” She replied hopefully.
“I see you expected to receive your release now.” Making note that her hospital ropes were neatly folded on the guest chair at the far right corner of the room.
“Yes. I hope I will not be disappointed.” Sydney smiled.
“Well, I have made an assessment of your injuries. Your loss of blood was the boldest issue. That seems to have cleared up and your wound had been cleaned and stitched.”
“So...” Sydney said impatiently.
“so…” the doctor repeated. “ if you promise to stay out of stress and try not to rely too mush on your self when lifting heavy objects and such, you are free to leave when you are ready.”
“promise.” said Sydney in reply.
“Don’t forget to sign out at the front desk before you leave. Just tell the nurse that my name is Dr. Katz. She should have my signature. “
“Great!” Sydney said then the doctor walked out of the door. Sydney looked around her room one last time. “This is where I found out that I am pregnant.” She said to herself. “This must be the best days of my life, except Vaughn… I hope he is all right.” She picked up the small bag her dad had brought her clothes in and walked out the door.
When Sydney got to the front desk, she gave her name.
“Sydney Bristow.” She said.
“Hello miss Bristow. Which doctor have you been treated by?” said the nurse in a very uniform way.
“Dr. Katz.” Sydney replied.
“Great. If you could just sign here next to his signature, I’ll be glad to let you leave.” The nurse handed Sydney a piece of paper. At the top, in bold, it read, “SIGNE OUT” she scribbled her signature across form Dr. Katz’s and handed the sheet back to the nurse. When she turned to leave the nurse called her back.
“Miss, Miss…”
“Yeah?”
“I have a message for you from a Mr. Jack Bristow, your father, I suppose?”
“Yes, what is it?”
“Here” the nurse handed Sydney a small yellow post-it folded about five times.
“Thanks” said a preoccupied Sydney. She opened it, it read;

Go to my office, IMPORTANT!

“Right.” Sydney said under her breath before turning to the nurse. “Thank you.”
Sydney quickly walked over to her father’s office. When she arrived, she softly knocked on the door.
“Who is it?” demanded a voice from inside.
“It’s me, Syd.”
“Come in.” when Sydney opened the door he father was sitting at his desk and across from him sat Weiss. They both looked sad yet Jack looked more angry then sad.
“What is it?” Sydney asked. There was a pause before Weiss turned to Jack.
“Actions speak louder then words.” he told his boss.
“Yes, we should show her.” Jack replied.
“Show me what?” Sydney demanded.
“Come, follow me.” Said Weiss. He walked out of the room and down many corridors.
“This is where my mother is kept, why are we going to see her?” Sydney hoped she would get an answer but there was no sound except the sound of their shoes hitting the floor with every step. Weiss came around a corner and stopped at a cell one hall away from her mother’s.
“Look.” Weiss said and pointed into the cell. Inside was a man with his head facing the floor. He was pulling his fingers through his hair in a very irritated why. He looked up.
“What? Come to accuse me of something else I didn’t do?” but he stopped talking when he saw the horrified look on Sydney’s face. “Syd…” he said.
“Vaughn?” Vaughn got to his feet and walked towards the plexy-glass window.
