Season 2 Something everyone's missing

OK....everyone close your eyes and think back to episode one of the season finale (I can't keep up with their names). Do you remember when Jack was laying on the bed (looked kinda like a hospital gernie) and the lights started blinking. Here's what I think...Sloan was tipped off probably by Sark or the evil Francie and then activated the Rambaldi device which sent everything into an alternate universe. Which would mean in reality Vaughn would not be married...etc. Any thoughts?

Well, when the lights were blinking and the walls shaking, the device was being built. It was not finished yet, so Sloane couldn't have used it.

I see where you're going with this. There are several similar theories. It's possible, but my opinion is that IF the device was used, it was probably after the Sydney-Allison fight.

did sloane get all the rambaldi pieces?
For "the telling" but not for all of his inventions, I'm sure.
;)

That's a good theory. But I'm with AliasALIAS on this. He hadn't finished it yet. And, there's no change in what happened! It changed after Sydney's fight with Freplicia. It wouldn't make any sense.

well said ... and I have to agree with you ... ;)

As the CIA raided the building Sloane came up to Jack and said the machine is assembled and seamed to be going to say more when a minion interrupted saying they were being raided. The funny effects were the night before so the Telling was not finished yet.

My theory, Sloane was going to use the Telling on Jack but was interrupted so latter he used it on Sydney instead.

I agree with VH, he had the pieces for Il Dire, but not all of the Rambaldi items. Cipher was all about a zero point energy source. The formula would not reside in a CIA warehouse. Our scientists would be working like crazy to make the formula work.

Why would he use it on Sydney? If Irina knew that Sydney was the woman in the Prophecy, so did Sloane. She was his Achilles heel, his Waterloo...he would not want to save her only to have her come back and haunt him! However, I've been bitten too many times by the writers, so....anything's possible on Alias.
Of course there's always the possibility he used Il Dire to fling her into the future. Oooooh, now that's a possibility...still if I were Sloane, I would get rid of my potential enemy.

Good point lenafan

This is the fun of trying to understand what prophecy means.

The US governments interpretation of the prophecy would make the prophecy girl the evil destroyer of the USA but luckily for Sydney the government’s interpretation of what never having seen the beauty of my sky, behind Mount Subasio made them think Sydney was not the prophecy girl.

The government was not being very open to alternative interpretations but any study of prophecy in literature would tell you that prophecies are rarely clear and can mean very different things than you think they mean.

With this prophecy what does “the beauty” mean? What does “my sky” mean when to be clearer Rambaldi should have wrote “the sky“ instead.

Irina told to Sydney that Sydney was the prophecy girl and was to stop Sloane which must be Irina’s interpretation perhaps aided by additional information only Irina has.

Sloane has always been partially protective and fond of Sydney so Sloane does not think Sydney is a threat to his plans. Perhaps Sloane‘s interpretation of the prophecy makes him think Sydney is the prophecy girl but the greatest power is the USA and wants to use Sydney to defeat the US  :o_O: :nuke: 🕵

Recently I've been thinking Irina knows a hell of alot more than others. She has been very protective of Sydney from the start. It led me to believe she will and can do anything to keep Sydney alive to see the Prophecy come true and Sloane stopped. GO MOM.

You never know with Irina, she can be cold and calculated, yet be sincere and all ... so, we need to see what JJ is gonna do ... ;)

In the beggining when you guys said that the machine was being built, it was almost complete. Sloane said that is should be ready in less than 24 hours. It could have happened at any time during the francie and sydney fight. I think it happened just as Syndey slumped to the floor.

any other ideas?

Maybe it could have locked on her since to quote her mother, "you too have been chosen" and where did it send her? and if it did send her someplace, how come according to Vaughn, when asked about Will by Sydney, How?(she thot he was dead), Vaughn answers, "you..."
I know it's a mouthful, but....questions begat questions.

YOu know, I was thinking about that. I was like "Hello? What happened with all the blinking lights? Did they use the Telling?" Hmm, curious...
