Sci-Fi Stargate vs Star Trek

I'm almost done watching Doctor Who up until the end of season 6 so maybe I can get my tv partner to watch Stargate. He is picky when it comes to sci fi. He doesn't really like Star Trek either. Come to think of it... why the heck is he my BFF?

Probably more fantasy than sci-fi but we are watching Doctor Who right now. We've watched Fringe, Eureka, Alphas, Warehouse 13, Walking Dead, Buffy and Supernatural together so far. I also forced him to watch Vampire Diaries although if asked I don't think he would admit it. We are going to watch Firefly, Torchwood and Lost Girl. He may also talk me into watch more Kolchak: The Night Stalker if he is really nice to me!
