The California sun shown brightly and the heat was all around her. Her hair was pulled back into a twist, but a few stubborn strands escaped, clinging to her overheated skin. She hated the 'black' of her job - the skirt, tank, shoes, especially in the summer. It clung. She hated it.

Sydney walked into the warehouse smiling, determined to put the idea of last night behind her. It didn't matter that seeing Alice and Vaughn together last night had nearly ripped her heart out. She was not going to dwell on it. But who was she fooling? All she wanted to do was throw herself at Vaughn and proclaim her love.

She walked into the warehouse trying not to give herself away. She took slow, deliberate steps so she could observe Vaughn without his knowledge. He was leaning against a crate, running a hand through his hair. She wondered if his hair even managed to go a day without getting mussed.

The cool air of the warehouse soothed her and she relaxed a bit. Vaughn's suit coat was laying on an empty crate and the white shirt he had worn underneath defined his chest. She stared at the sight before her and tried to cool herself off by leaning against the gate.

A small laugh escaped and Vaughn looked up at the sound. He saw who it was and his cheeks reddened slightly. "Syd, how long have you been there?"

She smiled, "Not too long."

He motioned for her to have a seat next to him and she made her way over to the crate. He started to explain her counter mission but she was soon lost in her thoughts. His hand was now holding hers and he was rubbing circles on it with his thumb.

He smiled at her and she wondered if he had an clue what he was doing to her. She couldn't help herself when her thoughts wandered to his hands doing more than touching hers. She wished that she could stop her mind from wandering, but she blamed it on the heatwave.

His hand moved to rest on her knee and she took advantage of the situation to lean against him. She sighed in contentment as his arm slipped around her waist and held her close. She smiled lazily at him and leaned in to kiss his cheek, but he turned his head to meet her lips. She reached up to bring him closer and leaned back, bringing him with her.

"Sydney!" She blinked, coming out of her daydreams, and looked at Vaughn. "Are you ok? You seem kind of distracted."

Sydney blushed slightly. "I'm sorry, I think it's the weather."

Vaughn nodded and went back to discussing the countermission. Sydney knew that she should really concentrate on his words but she was focusing on his mouth. Vaughn was French; who knew what he could do with those lips?

She wondered if it was because of the heatwave or if it was from their close proximity, but she felt the urge to touch him. She denied it and instead watched as he flipped through page after page detailing the countermission. She studied the way he moved and the way he shifted uncomfortably. She smiled and pushed back a few stray hairs.

The cool air inside the warehouse was becoming stifling and she was starting to feel limp. She wondered how Vaughn was able to breathe, wearing a stiff dress shirt. She was barely surviving wearing a tank top and skirt.

She watched as Vaughn pulled out a small pin and motioned for her to move closer. She could feel the heat radiating from his body and leaned in to see the pin better. Vaughn described the pin and pointed out the hidden camera. He showed her the button that had to be pressed to take pictures and proceeded to hand her the pin.

Their fingers touched, and Sydney could feel the heat & sweat coming from his fingertips. As he released his hold on the pin, he dropped it. As they both bent to retrieve it their heads bumped and Sydney could feel Vaughn's damp forehead hit hers. Sydney laughed and sat up, holding her head. "Vaughn, I think you managed to stab me with one of these stupid pins. How about you? Are you ok?"

"Never better," Vaughn replied with a smile. "Come here, I'll check to see if there was any damage."

Sydney sat on the floor and allowed Vaughn to take the clips and pins out of her hair. His fingers gently seperated the strands of hair as he checked for an injuries. She leaned into his touch and felt the urge to sigh in contentment. She noticed that his hands seemed to be traveling toward her shoulders and she hid a grin.

His hands began to knead the tension from her shoulders and she sighed as his hands worked magic on her abused muscles. His palms were sweaty, but she didn't mind at all as the tension of last night was slowly disapearing. He stopped suddenly and she turned to see what was wrong.

"Vaughn?"

He sighed and leaned back, his eyes closed. "Syd, we shouldn't be doing this."

"Vaughn, is this about..." Sydney stopped, unable to say the name.

He looked into her eyes and held her gaze. He grabbed her hand between his and sighed. "Syd, this has nothing to do with Alice, and everything to do with protocol."

"Vaughn, don't use that excuse. We've both been fighting this for a long..." Sydney trailed off, mortified of what she had admitted so candidly. She looked at him, unsure of his reaction.

Vaughn stared at her hand and whispered, "Syd, you couldn't be more right."

She stood, looking Vaughn in the eyes and took the opportunity to grab Vaughn by his shoulder holster. She knew there was a reason she loved that shoulder holster.

She pulled him in for a kiss and tried to show him how she felt without putting it into words. She knew it was wrong and that he was with Alice, but at this moment she didn't care. She was the one who knew the real Vaughn. She was the one he came to meet in the warehouse and she was the one he was kissing.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer. He began to pull away a bit and moved to nibble behind her ear. She sighed and arched her neck to allow him better access. He moved lower to lick and kiss her collarbone and she backed into the gate. She arched against him and he laughed.

"Impatient, are we?"

"You don't know," she said between kisses, "how long I've wanted this."

Vaughn chuckled and his hands moved to her waist. He slid his hands under her tank top and tickled her sides, making her gasp. They traveled lightly across her stomach and she sighed in pleasure. Vaughn stepped away and Sydney groaned in frustration. "What...."

Vaughn placed a finger against her lips and she reached her tongue out to trace it. He groaned and pulled her to him. He moved to sit on the crate and bought her down on his lap. His mouth covered hers once again and she shifted so that she was closer to him. She played with the edges of his shirt and traced the muscles she found there.

One by one, her fingers lingered on his shirt buttons, until she was able to push his shirt back over his chest. He laughed at her explorations but suddenly turned serious when she lowered her head to kiss his belly. He pulled her back up to meet his kiss and pushed the tank top up. She rocked her hips and he pulled her closer, deepening the kiss.

Her hands worked on his belt and he heard the metal bounce off the floor of the warehouse. He smiled as the kiss continued and she worked at removing her skirt without leaving his lap. With that gone, his hands were free to trail down and trace lazy circles around her hips.

She pulled back and began to trail kisses near his ear and along his neck. She breathed in the smell of his aftershave and felt like melting in his arms. This man really did know how to do incredible things with his mouth. She pulled herself as close as she could possibly get and enjoyed the feeling and security of his arms around her.

Vaughn continued to tease Sydney until she couldn't take it anymore. She leaned forward and whispered in his ear, "I want you now." She could feel Vaughn swallow nervously and she found great pleasure in knowing the effect she had on him.

Vaughn grabbed her hips and she let him control the pace. Her head was swirling with emotions and she wasn't sure how to form coherent thoughts. When she finally came down from the high, she rested in Vaughn's arms and sighed, content to be held. She laid her head on his chest and let the sound of his heartbeat soothe her.

All too soon they had to leave the warehouse. They helped each other dress and shared one last lingering kiss, knowing that some day they would be able to be together without fearing for their lives.

good job!! if you write more i will definitely read! wouldn't that be awesome if it actually DID happen on the show!! wow! alice pisses me right off though. i'm like "just go away so Syd and Vaughn can be together!" some of the stuff you said about Vaughn like 'running his hand through his hair' and about his defined muscles and chest will stick in my head for a while! yumm! thanks!!!

wow...that was extraordinarily bad.
since when has alias become a cheap dime-store romance paperback. how completely tacky.

:stupid: Er...I personally think that Spoiler was right about one thing, Alias is not a 'cheap dime-store romance paperback.' Then again, everyone has to have a little fun, and if Sydney and Vaughn really like each other it seems to me that they would have no problems with doing something like that...in the meantime, I thought it was pretty good...so I guess I'm not really 'with stupid'.

I don't know MVISAHOTTIE! I love this one. R-rated Fanfics are just so much fun, I love them. This is really great! Spoiler, don't be so cynical.
