Just wondering here, who thinks I'll get shot and who thinks I won't? Expect an update soon, maybe by the end of the weekend or the beginning of next week.
NO!!! you can't get shot!

OK ... I just finished reading the first chapters ... you are great ... I loved the story, the writing ... pls. post the next chapter soon ... pls. pls. pls.

Sydney stood there still with her hand feeling cold and hot at the same time. She and Brian just stared at each other while Amanda could see nothing much of what was going on, she could only imagine.

And then it happened…

“BOOM!” there was a gunshot that was so loud it echoed off the walls. And then there was a loud scream followed by two other loud screams.

Brian had been shot in the left shoulder and started bleeding. Profusely. Sydney stopped and stared at Brian forgetting Sark was there. ‘Did she fire the shot?’ she wondered. And then she turned to her right.

Sark was the one who fired the shot. She felt relieved that she didn’t fire, but felt so sorry for Brian. Luckily the bullet did not travel through Brian to Amanda.

“Well, hello, double agent Sydney Bristow,” Sark said menacingly.
“How the hell do you know I’m a double?” Sydney replied furious.
“Well, let’s just say I have a friend who knows a friend and leave it at that, ok?”
Sydney raised her gun and pointed it at Sark and asked vehemently, “WHO IS THIS FRIEND OF A FRIEND?”
“I cannot tell you or I’ll take all three of you out right now. Is that what you really want? That’s what I want.”
“NO!”
Sark took Sydney’s gun from her hand.

“Well, now that my work here is done, I’m going to leave, I’ve got other business to do. I hope you enjoy the stay in the room. I will be locking this door, so good luck trying to get out. Goodbye everyone. I hope you get out before the “bomb” and ensuing “fire” kill you three and everyone here.”

As soon as Sark left the room Sydney went over toward Brian and Amanda and untied them and Brian lay very weak on the cold, hard floor. Amanda was crying so much; she’d been through a lot of things in one day. She even hoped she would make it out alive. And so did Sydney.

“S..s…s…ydney,” Brian murmured. “Don’t let me die.”
“I won’t,” Sydney replied sternly.
“Amanda come here and put some pressure on his shoulder while I try and figure out a way to put a tourniquet on it.”
“Ok, I will,” she replied shakily. There was quite a lot of blood.

Sark was waiting inside Sloane’s office when he walked in. He couldn’t wait to hear what happened.

“Hello boss,” Sark said cheerily.
“Hello Sark,” Sloane also replied cheerily.
“How did your meeting go?”
“A deadly success,” Sloane replied trying to stop his laughter.
“Ha ha. I can only imagine.”
“How about you? How were things here?”
“Very, very good. They’re all trapped in that room. Brian, the agent, is wounded and bleeding. I wouldn’t go in there if I were you.”
“I won’t. They’ll all be dead in three hours anyway.”
“Exactly.”

“Sark, can you excuse me? I’ve got an important call to make. I’ve got to call our friend. You should go down to the unloading section and wait for the ‘big box’ to come in.”
“Sure, I’d be glad to do that. I’ll let you know when it gets here.”
“Thanks.”

With that, Sark left Sloane’s office and he proceeded to call his friend.

“Hello Mr. Napolitano.”
“Hello Sloane, how are things your way?”
“Very well. Phase two is almost complete. Are the devices almost here?”
“Yes, they should be there in the next half hour to forty-five minutes.”
“Good, very good. I can’t wait.”
“Me neither. Congratulations.”
“Thank you. After this, we will all meet in the Cayman Islands and leave thereafter for another temporary destination in Melbourne, Australia.”
“Yes, as soon as you give the order, I will go.”
“Great. Until then, see you soon.”
“Goodbye.”
“Bye.”

CIA HQ

Vaughn sat at his desk thinking hard at how he wondered how Sydney was doing. He could only imagine what might be going on. If only he had placed a bug on her, but that thought was quickly killed because he knew the SD-6 scanners would quickly find it and fry it. He could only pray. Wonder. Hope.

“Brian! You’ve got to hang on!” Amanda screamed and started hitting his cheeks to keep him on Earth.
“Am…Aman…Amanda,” Brian said gasping for breath, “I never imagined this could happen with you here.”
“Me either.”
“Oh, I’m so cold, so cold.”
“Here let me try and warm you up,” she leaned in and pressed her body on top of his, while keeping pressure on his wound. “Sydney, your sleeves of your long sleeve shirt, rip them off and let’s tie them around his shoulder.”
“Exactly what I was thinking. You could be the next agent.”
Brian heard this and said, “I concur.”

Sydney and Amanda laughed. Sydney ripped the sleeves off and tied her sleeves around Brian’s shoulder.

“How’s that feel, Bri?”
“Pretty good. I think you should elevate my legs though.”
“Right,” and Sydney elevated his legs onto a chair that was nearby.
Sydney took Amanda aside and said, “We really have to get out of here and I have a feeling that something catastrophic is going to happen besides what happened to Brian. That’s bad enough. It looked to me like Sark was talking in some sort of code when he use the quote fingers to say the words bomb and fire.”
“You’d know, I wouldn’t. I’m just a passenger.”
“I know, but you’re really gonna have to think like I do. Things will be happening fast.”
“I will. Sark said he’d lock the door, can you pick the lock?”
“I could if I had something to pick it with. There’s nothing in my hair. How about yours?”
“I think so, let me…yes, there we go.”
“Perfect. Thank you.”

Sydney tried working on the lock with the hairpin while Amanda went back over towards Brian.

“How are you doing now?”
“I’m doing alright, just worried about you two. I see that you two are working well together. That makes me happy.”
“It makes me happy, too.”
“We will get out of this alive, I know we will.”
“I know.”

“Sloane, the device has just arrived.”
“Good. Bring it up and unload it. I’ll turn my windows on dim and we’ll set it up.”
“Will do.”

Sark made his way carefully to Sloane’s office and had everyone in the halls looking at him. The expressions on their faces had them wondering what was inside. Sark, of course, knew what was inside. It would be the device that would end their lives and all of the SD cells. Mr. Napolitano would be delivering the eleven other devices to the other cells.

“Here it is,” Sark said wheeling the device in.
“Is it all set to go?”
“Yes. We have the green light to go.”
“Excellent. Rambaldi was a great man.”
“Yes, he was. Shall we go to the plane?”
“Let’s go.”

Sydney was still struggling with the lock when she heard a door close and people walking by. She waited for a moment and kept quiet and then resumed working on the lock. While she was doing that, she felt something move in her pocket. It was her cell phone! She had forgotten it was there. She pulled it out and started to dial for Marshall, when she heard Amanda scream.

“BRIAN! Wake up, wake up!” she screamed as Brian slipped to sleep.
“Oh no, not again! Keep doing that and hopefully he’ll wake up. He should come back to your voice.”
“Oh, I hope so, too!”

Sydney went back to the door and tried picking the lock one more time and then she would call Marshall if she had no luck. Then she heard a noise. It was like a low, buzzing noise. Something was going on and she didn’t like it. Amanda looked puzzled at what was going on.

“Sydney, what’s that noise?” she asked worriedly. Brian still had not come to.
“It’s something bad. Real bad. We have to get out. Now!”
