This is the comparison between VY Canis Majoris to us. VY Canis Majoris is in the Virgo Cluster or Virgo Super CLuster as it is called now. This star is 2000 times larger than our own sun. It is considered a Hyper Giant and is the largest found to this date.

At that scale, we're like the size... of an atom or something lol... we don't even exist!
    so amazing!

Vy Canis Majoris is about 5000 light years away from Earth.

1 light year = 9500000000000 kilometers! Yes, 11 zeros! lol
(Light travels 9500000000000 kilometers, about 10 trillion kilometers or 6 trillion miles, in one year.)

That works out to 1.5 kiloparsecs (4,900 ly) away from Earth.

if you are interested in finding it with a telescope, and a very good one at that then here is the coordinates
