Season 2 The Earrings!

So Irina was signalling Syd..."TRUTH TAKES TIME". What does it mean? Is she good? From the look on Syd's face, she seemed hopeful. What do you think? What exactly was Irina trying to say?
 
Irina told Sydney that "Truth Takes Time" in The Enemy Walks In. Also, it was the title of the episode.
 
truth takes time.....kestimetruthta....don't judge by appearances, don't jump to conclusions....with patience knowledge comes. I agree....hope this means she has a heart after all :D
 
Alright I think we can hope that she might come back to explain her actions to Sydney, but as for her being 'good,' I still doubt that is the case. She does care for Sydney, I think we have established that, but her obsession with Rambaldi is what drives her. Irina admitted, in A Dark Turn, to Jack that she was absolutely infatuated with Rambadli, I doubt she is whole heartidly good, though one could make the argument after her scene with Sloane, towards the start of the episode, when she told him never to speak of his paternal enstinct towards Sydney again, can be seen as motivation for her to have betrayed the CIA so she could go after Sloane herself, for Sydney's benefit, and imagine that she gets the rest of the Rambaldi artifacts as well.
 
Well we know this...that whatever's happening has been planned for a long time...those earings we're made BEFORE she turned herself in...she told Syd 'Truth takes time' at the end of episode 1...the earings come back in episodes 4 and 5 and finally we see their significance...AND they repeat the same thing Irina already said...

I think it means YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH!!! At least not yet. It means that this behavior of irenas is not the true irena.
Still...its gunna take a lot of explaining at some point to bring her back into favor with sydney and jack!!!!!!!
 
i still think irina's "evil." her saving sydney's life doesn't really prove that she's good. i mean, look at sloane and emily. she was clearly the most important person in his life but his love for her didn't make him "good."

anyway, i don't know, the earrings threw me for a big fat loop. i'm so confused. :o_O:

I think she is good. I think that Emily dying made her realize that Sydney might die too. The look on her face at the end... she was in complete shock.

i think maybe she'll use the earrings to contact syd and tell her what sloane is doing or something... not sure
 
Well, you can go back to the whole thing that Irina was planning all this from the beginning, and that's why she asked for the earrings in the first place, because she knew if anything ever went wrong, Sydney would wind up with the earrings, and she could communicate with her.
 
daaamn... that's a LOT of planning. not saying that it's impossible, but if irina's planned this all, i will be extremely impressed.

so we now have to go back and think about everything irina's handled, so to speak. i want to see those post-it notes now. what else did they give her? they need to sweep her cell. i'll bet something's hidden there! :blink:
 
Yeah, but remember they checked the earrings, and found nothing, so I'm doubting they'll find anything in the cell. The post-its definitely have something to do with whatever is going on though. I'm sure we'll see them again.
 
yes, i hope that in the next one they use them to show she is good! i hope that if lena olin decides to leave the show they will kill her by making her do something good
 
it is possible that irina only sent the message so that syd will hesistate to kill her in the future. however, i think that irina truly loves her daughter, she just has other agendas and obsessions also
 
i think the earrings are sort of like a pager - it's a one-way communication thing. i don't think sydney can use the earrings to communicate back with her mother.
