Season 2 The Earrings!

who knows... i dont think syd can talk to her either though. but i still think irina will give her info on where sloane is or something... who knows
 
she definitely can't use the earrings to communicate back with her mother. And I doubt that Irina will send any more messages. I think this was a one shot deal. More than likely a warning of what's to come.
 
maybe... but i doubt the earrings will just drop out, its too big of a deal. I mean for one thing they will want to know how they got past the checks
 
well, lots of things have been getting past people lately. the passive transmitter in irina got past her and sark. which, by the way, when DID jack have time to inject her with it?? i mean, by the look on jack's face when marshall asked that, it seemed pretty clear that it was when jack and irina were, ahem, alone in the hotel room together, but how could she not notice??

anyway, maybe the earrings got past the cia because they worked as a pager and not some sort of bug or other communication device. i bet after a few minutes, the earrings will stop transmitting that code and won't "work" anymore. so i guess there wasn't really anything for them to "detect."
 
umm, well i think considering where the transmitter was placed, i guess irina just didn't recognize exactly what jack was doing . . .
 
yeah, but if she was awake, she would have had to have felt it go in. I mean, no matter how small that puppy was, she would have felt something.

see, that's what i'm thinking too! i mean, i can't really say that i've ever been in that position, but i would like to think that i'd notice if a man tried to inject a tracker into my breast.

that just sounded so weird...

But yeah, how did he get it in there? Think he slipped her something at some point? I mean, we didn't exactly see everything that happened that night. But then again, if she was asleep, and I'm sure it was a fast injection, she might have just kind of half woke up, not realizing why she did.
 
hmm... yeah, he might have slipped her something. i think what's throwing me off about the whole thing is that i would've thought that irina would be smarter than that.

but i guess what others are saying is also possible... she could've just been too, ahem, wrapped up in the moment to notice. :angelic:
 
true, but like you said, Irina seems almost too smart for that to happen. I guess she really under estimated Jack.
 
you're right. wow, i didn't think of that either. it's not that irina was being "dumb"; it's that she was underestimating jack.

and i just realized, we're going so off-topic here. sorry, everyone!! :confused:

anyway, my point to this whole thing was that things get past people all the time. the tracker got past irina, the bugs got past sydney, so the earrings getting past the cia isn't too unfathomable an idea.
 
Once those earrings started transmitting at the end, I noticed that the pattern was repeating and I said before Vaughn said it, that it was morse code. Of course, I had no idea what the message was until it was decoded. But those earrings do leave you with a lot of questions.
 
So I wonder if Irina was using them to communicate with Sloane or Sark from her cell? Or if they were using them to communicate with her, more likely. But didn't they have cameras on her all the time? So maybe not..Maybe she was only planning to use them for Sydney the entire time.
 
i don't think she used them to communicate with sloane and sark. i don't think they worked as a two-way communication piece. i think it was primarily intended for sydney and, obviously, was planned to be used much later (after irina was extracted).
 
Sloane and Sark could have been communicating with her through the earrings though if they knew how they worked. That's how she knew when and where she'd be extracted.
 
Irina still wasnts to be Syd's mom. The earrings are a way of Irina saying tht she knows syd wil hate her for escaping, but she still loves her daugther
 
i think there could have been another way that irina knew when and where to be extracted. if she really was working with sloane and sark, i think they had her extraction planned before she even turned herself in. well, just sark actually since sloane supposedly didn't even know about jack and sydney being cia until later in the season.

i still think the earrings were just meant for sydney. especially because of the "sentimental" value behind them (i.e., they were irina's mother's).

id have to disagree here... its not that syd cant handle the truth yet, its that right now the pieces to the puzzle are very scattered, she has to do some handiwork, manipulate some people, and put them back together to makeup whatever good she has planned... thats why the truth takes time... there is no real truth now but in time, she will see, there will be a light at the end of the tunnel!


I do agree that its gonna take a lot of explaining to get in favor with jack, but i think syd sees beyond and understands that Irina has an agenda of her own and that she wont fail... lets face it, irina has saved syds life over a dozen times now and syd is definiteley not oblivious
 
and i think theres something we missed here... sark was irinas #2... now sark is with sloane, and NOW the three are all-together> theres gotta be some way they had a prior connection, maybe the whole time sark and irina had communication through the earings... if only they were two way and syd could figure them out...
