The majestic ballroom was the true definition of magnificence with its elaborate glass chandelier that hung above the elegantly dressed occupants. As she adjusted her earring, Jennifer stepped into ballroom. It was her cousin Arianna’s wedding reception and although she was happy for her, Jennifer couldn’t help but to feel a little bit envious. Because at the ripe age of twenty-two, Arianna had just made an eternal vow to her one and only true love. Jennifer on the other hand, was now into her early thirties and still single. The man that she loved was the one that she couldn’t have.
For five years they fought of the attraction they had for each other, because there was only one obstacle that restricted them from pursuing on their unspoken love; their careers. They both knew the sacrifices they would have to make when they chose their career; they just didn’t expect to find genuine love. Because if they ever seen with each other, there would be dire consequences.
Instead, they formed a friendship that bordered the line between professionalism and a forbidden romance. During their midnight rendezvous they would they confide to each other their dreams, their hopes and their deepest fears. Intense sexual tension was always present between them and at times, it was pure torture for them. With their lingering looks, they saw the passion, the hunger and the pain that lies deep within. It was only a matter of time before their undeclared love would engulf them and willingly, they would embrace it.
A strong hand gripped her shoulder pulling her out of her train of thought. When she saw whom the hand belonged to, a smile touched her full lips.
“Dad,” Jennifer said as she searched his appearance with her eyes. Dressed in a black sophisticated tuxedo, with a matching bow tie; John was the picture perfect image of classiness. “You look handsome tonight.”
He gazed at her his dark brown eyes. “Thank you. You look absolutely radiant.” He combined his hand through his gray, short wavy hair.
“Thanks,” she replied.
“I just wanted to tell you that I’m turning in for the night,” he said as he glanced at the couples surrounding them. Ever since his wife died over twenty years ago, Jennifer was the only woman in his life.
“I understand,” she gripped his hand and felt its slightly rough skin. “Have a good night,” she gave him an empathetic look.
“I will,” he let go of her hand and cupped the side of her face before leaving.
Curiously, she examined the ballroom until a familiar face caught her attention.
“Michael,” she whispered, her spirit always felt it was soaring whenever she said his name.
Like two green emeralds his eyes sparkled, at another woman. It seemed to Jennifer as if they were in engaged in a private conversation; their mouths were only mere inches away from each other as they spoke. He revealed to her his breathe taking smile as he laughed at one of her comments.
Jealousy overcame Jennifer as she watched the man that she loved blatantly flirt with some grotesque woman and showing her his gorgeous smile was the last straw.
Because that smile only belonged to her, and no one else. Assertively, she strutted over to him and grabbed his hand while ignoring the scowl she received from the repulsive looking woman, as she guided him to the dance floor.
Secretly, Michael suppressed his triumphant smile as Jennifer led him to the dance floor. He knew flirting with that unattractive woman would evoke Jennifer’s jealous side. He quickly grinned; his plan was almost a success. They stopped and stood in the middle of the dance floor. Intently, he gazed into her deep brown eyes as she placed her hand on his shoulder. She shivered when his hand traveled down her bare back, and then, his palm lay flat on the small of her back. With their bodies pressed against each other, they began to dance.

Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?
Bryan Adams

To really love a woman
To understand her - you gotta know her deep inside
Hear every thought - see every dream
And' give her wings when she wants to fly
Then when you find yourself lyin' helpless in her arms
Ya know ya really love a woman
When you love a woman you tell her that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
Cuz she needs somebody to tell her that it's gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really - really really ever loved a woman?

As they slowly glided across the marble dance floor, he breathed in the floral scent of her chestnut colored tresses. In response, she nuzzled her face into his neck and smiled at pleasing aroma of his cologne. He felt her full lips form into a smile on his neck before he could respond; she took her hand off his shoulder and combined through his brown hair with her soft fingers. He was in pure bliss as he felt their body temperature rise. Their eyes met and at that moment they were the only two people on earth. While keeping his eyes on her, he removed his hand off the small of her back and with his forefinger he traced the outer edge of her luscious lips. She whispered in his ear her hotel room number before leaving. Knowingly, she held his gaze as she marched the grand staircase that led to her hotel room.

To really love a woman
Let her hold you - til ya know how she needs to be touched
You've gotta breathe her - really taste her
Til you can feel her in your blood
And when you can see your unborn children in her eyes
Ya know ya really love a woman

Moments later, he arrived at her hotel room and called her named. She replied from the bathroom. Curiously, he stepped into the bathroom to find her in a bathtub full of suds. She shot him one of her come-hither looks and told him to remove his jacket. He obeyed and bent down next to her. Without even asking, he grabbed the washcloth and gently caressed her back. A small moan escaped from her lips. She leaned in towards him for a kiss but teasingly he pulled away.
“I’ll see you after you’re done with you’re bath,” he winked at her and walked out.

When you love a woman you tell her that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
Cuz she needs somebody to tell her that it's gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really - really really ever loved a woman?

You got to give her some faith - hold her tight
A little tenderness - gotta treat her right
She will be there for you, takin' good care of you
Ya really gotta love your woman...

A terry cloth robe covered her slender body as she strolled into the bedroom; she paused when she saw him sitting on the edge of the bed. A smug look came across his face as he clasped her waist and pulled her to him. Exhilarated, she lightly held his neck and tasted the forbidden heaven that were his lips. Time seemed to stop as they savored every moment of their first night together. Pleasantly spent, she rested her head on his chest and heard the beautiful beating of his heart as she fell into a deep slumber.

Great job, but in a way I was wondering if you were a Michael Vartan/Jennifer Garner shipper and this was kind of about them. Hehe!
