In the last two minutes of the season finale sydney calls the CIA from hong kong and says shes calling for "confirmation looking glass.'' Then they connect her to kendel. When i first heard this the statement " looking glass" it sounded really familiar, then i was like, isn't that apart of that book Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking glass? I rememeber cause that book was one of the books I could have picked for my senior thesis. Unfortunately, i didn't pick it. However I did remmeber it, and i decided to go to sparknotes and see what I could find about it. Maybe it is something symbolic that jj left for us. Heres what i found in the summary about the looking glass:
"The central image of the chess game implies some unseen force behind the events of the story, especially after the scene in the first chapter in which Alice moves the chess pieces about without them being able to see or hear her. Also, the events are laid out for Alice by the Red Queen before she even starts on her journey across the board, and she feels strangely compelled to follow the set path, despite her curiosity about things that lie beyond (such as the honey-making elephants). In addition, most of the characters she meets along the way are taken from songs or poems (which are always quoted) and follow the plots of their respective sources. "
"The two armies in the chess game compete with each other (the White Queen is seen running from an enemy in Chapter 7, for instance), but harbor no deep enmity toward one another. The whole affair runs like a contest, rather than a conflict. I have no idea what it means, but its gotta be a little hint to something, cause everything shown on this tv show means something. All i know is that ever since chess was invented it has always been considered a strategic game for war. Which is a very interesting reference Alias made. Who knows, maybe sydney symbolically is alice. Let me know what you guys think.
