Timelines

An Old Friend
I didn't think this belonged in the Books section.

I like to collect links on SciFi and Fantasy or just plain Fictional Timelines. I'm wondering if anyone else is fascinated with timelines and if so do you have links you could share?

Here are a few of mine: (links)
This one is not a timeline but deals with the future and is really cool-the link is the low-bandwith so more users can view it but there is a high available too-GeneGeneration HighBand

Hey Tom!

Take a look at what I have done, based on Slider's and 'interpretation' of the material on the internet - and integrating other works of fiction:
Vrilliant Academy

Now if you'd like to contribute, and work with me on this endeavor, I know you're pretty with it - under the strict understanding that this is an uncensored glimpse of perceivable alternate realities and timelines - with 'support' material (ie: imagery, tv and/or movie references, video games, book references and more).

My goals are:
  1. To establish a numerically based addressing scheme similar to Internet IPS and URLS - for fictional, alternate reality, and historical sources as potentially accessible alternate realities (via holodecks and/or VR based systems)
  2. To quite literally create a unique educational facility which provides education in nonlinear time and it's structure (proposed classes are here: (Colleges & Schools)
  3. To outline and document a new linear history incorporate multiple universes as fact - based on ALL the material from all the potential alternate realities and timelines (developing a relational scheme much like a relational database) which demonstrates evidence of timeline and alternate reality 'jumping'.
  4. To develop a priority system to engage 3D developers to create immersive content based on simple demand. That is, give NEO from the Matrix a job, and Mr Smith different realities to police (separate those two - they clearly need to quit their fighting!)
  5. To become the 'de facto' source repository for mapping VR/Holodeck names to numeric locations, and maintain high credibility and standards with the mappings and destination locations.

In any case Tom, I know it's a funky way. But take a look at my format:
Vrilliant Academy

And I started the process of separating more static intended content (Wordpress and the Educational facility), and the more dynamic/changing content (wikia) by creating a wiki for it here:
http://vrilliant.wikia.com/

The wiki's clearly brand new, I just created it but that's where I want to house all the pages for dynamic content.

In any case. If you want in. I'll add you as an admin on the wikia and we can collaborate on content there. Take a look at 'Nude World' Earth Prime World (UC: 0.0.0.0 & 696.969.696.966) for a historical description that outlines the 'alternate reality', and primary theories on what may have led to that reality's deviation from ours..

And just to be sure. you seem highly creative. So I want to be sure that those who contribute provide some historically plausible theories on the fictionalized deviation of ANY contribution we might add.

For instance. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has a wonderfully 'inbuilt' deviant reality which explains a series of fictionalized events which are perfectly plausible and could explain an alternate timeline involving AH (if you suspend disbelief in there being vampires):

"In 1818, Abraham Lincoln (Benjamin Walker) lives in Indiana with his parents, Nancy (Robin McLeavy) and Thomas (Joseph Mawle), who works at a plantation owned by Jack Barts (Marton Csokas). There, Lincoln befriends a young African American boy, William Johnson (Anthony Mackie), and intervenes when he sees Johnson being beaten by a slaver. Because of his son's actions, Thomas is fired. That night, Lincoln sees Barts break into his house and attack his mother. Nancy falls ill the following day, and dies shortly afterwards. Thomas tells Lincoln that Barts poisoned her.

Nine years later, a vengeful Lincoln attacks Barts at the docks, but Barts, who is actually a vampire, overpowers him. However, before Barts can kill him, Lincoln is rescued by Henry Sturges (Dominic Cooper). Sturges explains that vampires exist, and offers to teach Lincoln to be a vampire hunter. Lincoln accepts and, after a decade of training, travels to Springfield, Illinois armed with a modified silver-bladed axe. During his training, Sturges tells Lincoln that the vampires in America descend from Adam (Rufus Sewell), a vampire who owns a plantation in New Orleans with his sister, Vadoma (Erin Wasson). Sturges also tells Lincoln of the vampires' weakness, silver, and presents him with a silver pocket watch."

This is all I am looking for. Is if we add ANY historically altered reality or deviant Earths. My own rule is: It MUST have a discernible branch point from our linearly documented reality, past, present, and future. Pure fantasy realities and/or cartoons - it would be a nice to have - I suspect we'll be able to 'link them' to the master timeline once we compile all the sources... but until then.. i figure it's ok NOT documenting the pure fantasy.

In any case.. thoughts? would you like to play?
