Too old to be a yuppie?

So, I was having a conversation with somebody and it came up that I said I might be turning into a yuppie because I was looking at spending a decent amount of money but a really nice leather sleeve (expensive but stylish & functional) for my laptop.

The response? That I was "too old to be a yuppie". :einstein:

Well, now, that caught me off guard since, one, I have not gracefully accepted getting older yet, and, two, it made me realize that it has been ages since I've even heard the term "yuppie" let alone know anybody who was called one.

Okay then, a "yuppie" I am not I guess!

So what name would apply to an older person who like stylish but functional tech and is not averse to spending money on it? Let's hear your suggestions! :D

Kev a couple of questions we want honest answer to

1. Do you own or have access to a Nespresso machine?

2. Do you own any device made by Apple?

If you answer yes to these questions then you are a Hipster and we no longer want to talk to you, you'll have to find friendship in the friendly yet tragically hip organic coffee bars in your neighbourhood.

BTW "Yuppie" does imply "Young Upwardly Mobile".

Nope, and, except for the bottled Frapucinno I get from the grocery store, I also don't partake in Starbucks.
2. Do you own any device made by Apple?
I detest Apple as a company so, no, no Apple products in our household

I don't think I could even entertain the notion of entering a place like that with a straight face. :P

Yeah, the "Young" part is the item my brother had issue with. :D He thought there was a corresponding name for middle-aged guys but he couldn't think of it. I suggested that if there wasn't one already then a new name had to be thought of.
