CHAPTER SEVEN

Micheal knew he could be caught, be he didn’t want Sydney to be in pain. Sydney’s water broke in the car, but Micheal didn’t care. He rushed her to the hospital. The nurses saw her and nodded before a word came out of Micheal’s mouth. They told him to wait there and led Sydney away.
After six hours, it was midnight. Micheal was tired, so he went across the street for some coffee at the 24-hour coffee stand. When he came back, a nurse told him that it was done. He eagerly followed her to the hospital room. Inside, there were three people: Sydney, a nurse, and the baby. Sydney looked very weak, but she reached for him. He went to her side.
“It’s a boy,” she whispered.

CHAPTER EIGHT

The next day, Sydney was ready to go home; with the baby they had named Thomas. Micheal escorted her carefully, balancing her in one arm and the baby carrier in the other. When they were in the car, the baby started to cry. Micheal didn’t know what to do, but Sydney went with her maternal instinct and picked up the baby. Thomas quieted when he was in his mother’s arms. Sydney would have burst with happiness if she weren’t so worn out. One night wasn’t enough to recover from giving birth. Micheal knew it would be better to take Sydney back to his place, so he did. When they got there, Sydney insisted on calling Francie. They hadn’t done anything about her yet, since Sydney was convinced that it was a mistake. Micheal was reluctant, but Sydney insisted. In the end, she won. Micheal sat by Sydney, watching her as she made the call. When she finished, she turned to face Micheal.
“I’ve decided on something,” she said. “I want to change my last name to Vaughn.”
“But we can’t get married-“ Micheal began.
“Because you’re dead.” Sydney finished. “I know that. But I can change it ‘in memory’ of you.”
“Why?”
“Because I love you.”

Me too!!! I came back and read it, obviously!! And now I'm all wound up from who knows what, and that wasn't supposed to rhyme....I'd like to run out of the room like a drunken zebra, but who knows what reactions I'll get....So, anyway, it's really good!! When can we expect some more? (I've found out that saying write more write more tells me nothing about when the next part is coming out, so I've decided to ask now)
