Politics War with Iraq

I would like to pint out something to u all, though this is a limited opinion, namely me, but in the bible, soz very into prophets ands stuff, its says about the diff rules, Romans, Greeks, British and Americans, At the moment in time American really are in control, so it is the American era. After this era there is another, butbthat is the last as the end of the world will come during that time! I feel that if America and Britain (cool britainya! (soz i'm brit!)) go to war, then the EU will afterwardds will sort it out so that america is not inconbtrol any more so a new era will occur and the world will be destroyed while we all waft up to heaven. And if American for some strange reason lose the war, then it will be the Iraq era, leading again the destruction of the earth....!
soz but just me and my bible! I also disagree with Bush pulling Britian into war when we don't want to, Blair is the only man in Britian wanting to go to war, but bush is telling him that we all would love to go to war just like ww1! but we really don't!

I am sorry, but our president does not suck, he is doing one heck of a job. Look at what has happened during his term, 9-11, can you imagine where Gore would be? Still in a bunker hiding. I love the cowboy in Bush. Sept 11 killed us. We were attacked on our own soil. Does that not hit home with you? Have you forgotten 3,000 lives were lost because some group does not like our way of life? Would you feel different if you lost some one at the pentagon, WTC, or in Penn? What if it was your parents? Do you know how many childern are going to grow up with out parents now? I am all for protecting this country. I will do my part. If that means we have to make the first move and attack Iraq, lets go. Look at the living conditions there. Look at the difference in Afganastan. It does not take a guiness to see they have a better life. Go President Bush. Kick tail while you are at it. Like Bush said, "We do not need anyone's permission to protect our country." So I could care less what the rest of the world says.

And in my opinion, all who want to "PROTEST" this war, relocate to France. You do not deserve to live here.

USA, USA, USA!!!!!

No, I most definitely have not forgotten 9-11, it will be impossible for me to ever forget it because I lost someone I knew in the attacks, or at least I haven't heard from her in over a year and a half, her name was Dana, she was 23.

I don't think that Gore would be hiding in a bunker-he is not a coward and would never abandon his country like that. He is more sensible than Bush and he should be the one in the Oval Office right now.

One of the main reasons I don't want the war is because so many people died in 9-11 that I don't think anymore should have to. Saddam did not attack us on 9-11, Osama Bin Laden did. I fully supported the war on Afghanistan because people they harbored attacked us. Iraq has never attacked us, they have had 12 years to so why would they choose to do it now?

I fully deserve to live here just as much as you do and you have no right to say that I don't. Is having my own opinion a crime? I think not.

PS. France is a beautiful country, my mother is from there.

How did it take to plan an attack on Pearl Habor?
How long did it take plan for 9-11?
How long is Iraq going to build harmful weapons?
How many times do hear that we are "the great devil"?
Some people and countries are very much against us and will attack us for now reason. Sadaam is a slow person, it just might take him longer than twelve years to plan an attack.

I am sorry you lost someone in 9-11.
An I am glad your mom is from France. Curious, why did she or her parents move here?

I'm sure those attacks took a long time to plan but in my opinion a war on Iraq has not been justified at this point. By irritating Saddam, we are only making him more angry at us and therefore increasing the risk of another attack on American soil. Is this man worth the deaths of Americans?

My mom moved here at the age of 18 to attend college at New York University (NYU). She met my dad there. We still live in the city. I'm not afraid of another attack, Dana's death has taught me that life is precious and that if your whole life is centered around worry there is no reason to live.

But Saddam has irritated us by launching all those attacks, he should've known how riled we'd get. But really, as much as I wish the war doesn't happen, I do want it to happen. Albeit, I doubt any war is worth the death of more people, no war really has been. I want this war to happen because of all those deaths on 9/11! If I was in the army I would've run off to afghanistan or Iraq or where ever to try to find Saddam or Bin Laden and kill them myself.

I guess it all just boils down to that one question: Is this war worth the number of people who will die?

Like I said before I respect your opinions.

However I think to answer your question Why Now? well truly I don't think anyone can really tell you I think the gov't found out information about Saddam uptain these "weapons of mass destruction" and decided to finally do something about it.

Also if you notice for the past two terms we had a democratic prez and of course MAINLY ( not all) democratics aganist war you usually never see war when there is a democratic prez. I'm also not saying Repub. are war hawks and itch for war all the time, but I feel that Bush has been under a lot of pressure since 9-11 to do something go to war with some body and when Saddam poped-up Bush thought oh strike while the iron is hot. But I don't want you to misintepret what I'm saying I'm not just saying we are going to war just cuz of that, but also because I think there is information they aren't telling us, because if the Gov't told us every bit of intel they knew there would be Mass hysteria( I don't know if thats spelt right).

thats my little speal

Goodness, I swear you ppl can't get enough of this war talk!! I mean come on 4 topics of war talk? Not saying I don't enjoy the political talk, but wow..it blows my mine!!!!!!

I say we should use every force to disarm them. If it means going to war I think Bush and Powell has reason I mean come on Powell has been in a war it can't be some that Bush just wants to go into cuz he wants a name or himself if Powell is so supportive of this war too....there is oviously something else is going on.

Your right We have reason to believe Bin Laden is the one who did attack us, but do you think Saddam won't he hurt his own ppl. Do you think he is making these weapons just to say he has them or show them off to his buddies? (saddam saying to other political leaders Hey look I have 16 nukes in mine arsenal I beat you by 5!!)

I think America should disarm him because he can't be trusted with these types of weapons also at the end of the Gulf War we aske him to totally disarm and he hasn't we should take action

ok im neutral and yet i ahve some opinions. i think bush is just trying to protect our nation so later he wont looked down upon as the prez who did do anything!
but he also doesnt want ot push things. but if we make the 1st move we could kill many inoccent lives. im not sure wat to think and i ould never want to be prez becaus eof this type of situation.

I personally believe that we have no right to impose our government on other people. We really had no right to tell him to disarm completely...saying things like that only leads to other wars in the future (ever heard of the Treaty of Versailles?) as it is doing to our country right now.

I do feel very sorry for the Iraqis that their leader is such a horrible man but I think sometimes the US has to learn to mind it's own business. What's right for us isn't right for the rest of the world. We need to listen to Germany and France, they've been through this more times than we have and have suffered worse, they know the horrors of war.

We didn't tell him to disarm, the UN did remember. The treaty of Versailles was different, the WWI winners were just slapping Germany in the face. Hitler used that to start the next war.
Had we not gone and saved frances ass in WWII they wouldn't even be here today to act like jerks and stand in our way.
Saddam is violating HUman Rights laws, which were established by several countries at the Neuremberg trials. He needs to be stopped. Sure people will die, but people will die if we let him stay in power. If we take his regime out, the bloodshed and murder will stop.

If we're going to have to go to war, this is not a good time to do it. Our country is $400 billion in debt, the war will cost $200 billion more. We are in a recession, the president wants tax cuts, what do these all add up to? A perfect recipe for a depression.

If he has to attack Saddam, he should do it when we are less vulnerable financially.

that's so true. the economy is in too much of a slump to go to war. and then if the UN doesn't support us how will it affect them? they are already on shaky ground and this will ever more un-unite them. we had a huge discussion on it in class.
