I remember buying this game for the CBM64. Even the box was a wonder at that time. The game expansive on disc and a sign of real gaming that was very special. It did feel somewhat repetitive and if you didn't level up properly you were going to get slaughtered. Levelling up is something I'm not very good at, then and now. Probably why I haven't felt the need to play games like this and more been an FPS gamer where my skill with the mouse and keyboard isn't about levelling up.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/wasteland-2 <<= Kickstarter page. They wanted $0.9mil to create a PC/Mac game, and $1.5mil and they've create a linux version. They hit their target.
