From Deadline.com comes news of a new NBC limited series, Wasteland, that sounds a bit like R.I.P.D. -- I haven't seen the R.I.P.D. movie yet so I'm not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing.

NBC has in the works Wasteland, an hour long limited series executive produced by Bob Cooper of Landscape Entertainment and Gina Matthews of Little Engine. Feature scribe Mick Davis, who penned the pilot and executive produced the CBS version of British sci-fi drama Eleventh Hour, is staying in the genre space with Wasteland. The supernatural crime-drama, produced by Sony TV, follows a hardened US Marshal, who in the wake of a massive prison break, is charged with hunting down fugitives with supernatural powers, while unlocking the mystery of his past.

Sounds like the MIB movie series...maybe they'll have a Will Smith cameo.
I didn't realize it but, you're right, that is the premise of how they ended the series.

Even though I was a fan of Eleventh Hour, based on how that did in the ratings I'm not holding out much hope on Wasteland.
