Its quite simple really, if someone brutally murders someone, they should be punished for it. The same thing should happen to them what they did to the victum. An eye for an eye.

IMO death is too quick, they need to serve life in prison. The thing about the death penalty is that, there have been cases after a person has been sent to death, where they've been cleared due to new evidence.

THe trial happens, Person A is found guilty and sentenced to death via hacksaw.

Person A is punished.

The cycle ends.
