What Are You Reading Right Now?

I'm glad I asked you what that was about. I caught the description of the book on Amazon a few weeks back but didn't save the item to my wish list to order later on. My last book was about a month ago, and was called Frozen in Time. An interesting take on WWII but I didn't understand all the buzz surrounding the book. It was mediocre at best.

I only just finished reading Neverwhere and American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Well, I've read them before but I decided that I wanted to read them again. So not regretting that decision. Amazing books.

Have you read Good Omen by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett? I love that book :D

Yeah... it's amazing.. First time I read it I did so in Swedish though.. I wasn't really old enough or well enough versed in the English language to read it in it's original language... I picked it up a few years later in English though and savored every minute of it.

Snobbery with Violence by Marion Chesney. A re-read. I have a book stash, but am stingy with it when money is tight. I might treat myself to a newer book next week, or tomorrow. It depends.

The Warded Man by Peter V.Brett.

I only just started with it so don't really have anything I can say about it just yet. Seems like an okay book so far though.

"Wool" by Hugh Howey. Love it. Fulfills my drooling love for post-apocalyptic dystopian science fiction that takes place under ground (which I contracted like a disease as a young bibliophile via "This Time of Darkness" by H.M. Hoover).

Upon a Midnight Clear - Sherrilyn Kenyon.. Easy reading, needing little in the way of concentration... read the series before, some good some bad (some really really bad!) this one not exceptional, but alright.

Wow! Some truly diverse tastes.

Right now I'm reading ((when I can pry myself away from the computer or TV that is)) Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Such poetic expressions. The book is genius. I'd actually started reading it about a couple months ago. My dog Dymyn ((brindle pitbull)) literally chewed it up and ate parts of it. If it had been homework - I truly could have told my teacher that the dog ate it ARG! So I had to order another = Love Amazon!

Anyway - It's a great book! I'd definitely recommend it!

Engineering Infinity, a science fiction anthology. Tried to keep hands off it, have older books that need reading in my stash. But anthologies are like literary crack to me. Can't resist.

I recently picked up a few new books at the library. Currently sifting through a book called The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima. So far I don't really know if I like the book or not but I'll let time tell.

I recently read Stephen Kings' Night Shift - a collection of short stories. To be fair and honest I skipped to the stories I knew and so now am going back through to read it all properly from start to finish.

Although I am 28 I have only recently discovered Stephen King (despite my mum reading his books for as long as I can remember) and so am truly looking forward to reading other books/stories that he has written.

Stephen King - Under the Dome. I've read it in the past but it was so long ago that I decided to give it a read again. Figured I might as well as I was planning on watching the TV-Show.

Time for thread bump.... My early Spring 2015 package has arrived from Amazon.

The Man in The High Castle by Philip K. Dick
Rocket Babe: Fallen Angel by @Verna & her husband (I've read the first "Rocket Babe" title, time for the sequel)
Seeker by @astonwest (I've read the first "Aston West" title, time for the sequel)

I had a chance to read Seeker yesterday and a good bit of The Man in the High Castle; should be finishing up that one this week and then onto Fallen Angel.

Whoops! When merging a few threads together I didn't realize this thread ended up being locked by accident. Sorry about that! If you tried replying before but couldn't, please try again.

Seeker by @astonwest (I've read the first "Aston West" title, time for the sequel)
Technically, Seeker isn't a sequel...just a standalone novel with the same main character (same goes for my new one, Fallen). The series of novels (in order) are Heroes Die Young, Friends in Deed, and Death Brings Victory. ;)

Hi Kevin,

Hope you are doing well! I saw where you picked up Fallen Angel, thank you!

I think you'll like it. Randy even included a piece just for you about the Kecksburg Incident and I think you'll like the way he used it.

He just completed the draft for Chapter 1 of the next edition of Rocket Babe but I don't know if he has settled on a title just yet.

When you've finished the book please let us know what you think.

Thanks!

Verna

P.S. Please email {redacted} your regular mailing address to me. I'd like to send you something to go with your book.
