I'm sooo Gimli! "Nobody throws a dwarf!" I also have the temper to match! I think the verbal sparring between Gimli and all the other Fellowship members was soo great! He was totally the comic relief... you know... because of his clumsyness and stupidity (i.e. when he fell off his horse). Also traits I possess, unfortunately!

Yes the evil #2 Pencils aren't you glad to be rid of them?

Gimli was definately used as a strong comic relief in TTT, which was needed in such serious scenes as Hornburg and Helm's Deep. He wasn't used as much in FOTR.
