What's your favourite book series?

Oh so many! When I was younger I really liked those royal diaries (each book is a diary of a famous princess), because I've always been into historical fiction.

Other faves have to be the Arthur series by Kevin Crossley Holland (The Seeing Stone, At the Crossing-Places and King of the Middle March). Philip Pullman said he was spellbound by these books. I'd have to agree.

His Dark Material books were also excellent.

But I'd have to say the silverwing books by Kenneth Opple (Silverwing, Sunwing and Firewing). They are so excellent. Read them people, read them. I don't care if you like fantasy, horror, whatever. YOU'LL LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!! They are some of my favourite books of all time. I've read them over and over. The first one is the best, but the other two are still really good. I cannot praise them enough!!! If I can just get one of you to read them I'll be so happy, cuz you'll enjoy them!!!!! They're that good.

Honorable mention to The Emily of New Moon books and The Anne of Green Gable books. I haven't read them for years, but they were good.

The chronicles of Narnia were good too, but its been ages since I read them. Since I must have read the first one in Gr.2 or 3. I remember the Horse and his boy was my favourite.

Oh, Narnia and LOTR top out for me. Narnia, wow, I just fell in love with those books right away. and lotr I got into after seeing the first movie.

But Narnia is just amazing. I like the way that Lewis relates the issues in the book to the Bible and how they coincide with each other so well. When I read the last book, I sobbed just because it ended. Trust me, if you haven't read them, you will love them.

The Chronicles of Narnia is prolly the best by far, IMO at least
The Winds of Light Series by Sigmund Brouwer -- *sigh* I was in love with Thomas ^_^
The Magic Bicycle Series by John Bibee -- INCREDIBLE stuff; apocalyptic allegory... I was addicted...
The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia Wrede -- so much fantasy fun
The Nancy Drew Series by Carolyn Keane (the original series ONLY) -- another addiction of mine when I was younger

...and there are more, I'm sure, that I'm forgetting...

The Kay Scarpetta novels by Patricia Cornwell. I like all of these books except the last two, Blow up and Trace who are very boring.

LOTR These books are magical! I've read them 10 years ago and they are still my all-time favourites.

Harry Potter. I can't wait to read the next book of this serie!

Jack Aubrey novels by Patrick O'brian. I've read the Far side of the world because, at the time, I was a big fan of Russell Crowe. And Russel Crowe had been cast to play Jack Aubrey in Master and Commander, the movie inspired by the books serie. Despite the fact that i've found The Far side of the world very boring, I decided to read the first book of the serie and now, i've read all of them except the last book.

Angelique, Marquise des Anges , by Anne et Serge Golon. An historic book series who is set in the France of the 17th century.
