Summary: Sydney leaves the CIA without saying anything to Vaughn ________________________________________________________________________________
___
Chapter 1
Agent Vaughn usually loved going into the CIA, he didn’t care about the work anymore as long as he got to spend time with Sydney Bristow. After sleepless nights wondering where she could be and who had taken her, he had reluctantly moved on with his life although he still thought of Sydney every waking moment. But now he dreaded that thought of entering the doors of the government building, he was married and his true love had been found yet he couldn’t have her. He hated the fact that he wasn’t with her and facing her was the worst torture he had ever been forced to endure.
He walked into the dull building slowly blaming himself for every thing that was going wrong right now. He pasted Sydney’s desk only to be surprised that it had been cleared out. There was nothing there just a computer and key-bored. He ran over to Weiss who knew just as much as he did. Worried he went to see Kendel (though he doubted it would help at all). In fact to his surprise Kendel told him exactly why her desk was cleared…she had resigned from the CIA. Vaughn was in total shock he could not believe his ears she was gone. He would never see her now. He went to his desk in a total daze and noticed an envelope awaiting him. He opened it holding back tears because he already knew who the letter was from. He opened carefully and read it silently:
To Vaughn:
I am so sorry to do this, believe me it is the last thing I want to do but it is best for me. I regret not ever telling you that I love you and I still feel that way now but obviously I can’t be with you and I don’t think I can accept seeing you every day and knowing that I want more than a relationship as friends. You will always be in my heart and I will never forget you ever!
Love, Sydney
With that Vaughn started sobbing and Weiss saw the letter and understood. Weiss knew it would be hard for Vaughn over the next while and he promised he would do everything he could for his best friend.
