Who will be around forever?

So who do you think, like 10 years into the future will have the staying power and still be big stars.

There's so many bands out there, but for each of us there's probably a quality few who we really love, do they have staying power???

Will they be like Cher and the Rolling Stones, still popular and still giving concerts??
Let me know what you think

Aerosmith(have been around that long but oh well)
Linkin Park
Goo Goo Dolls
Red Hot Chile Peppers (close)
Pearl Jam (close)

I don't know it is hard to call since you look at bands like Beatles and Queen and Styx that are amazing and still being played I just don't know!

I agree with your list..I'd probably also add U2 though

I really dont see people like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, nSync and etc still being all that popular

NIRVANA!!!! they have been around for over 10 and will be around for over ten! they are the all-time most amazing band. and if u haven't listened to them yet, DO IT NOW!!!

I agree, but also, Bon Jovi, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen ...

U2 (has been around forever too)
Sting (yes he's been around)
Coldplay (I didn't even think about them but I bet they will)
Matchbox 20(they are played a ton)
Hootie and the Blowfish (like M 20)

I don't know there are some bands that don't ahve a prayer and others that are iffy, I don't know, I'm glad you agreed with my first list at least.

Definitely Coldplay and the Red Hot Chili Peppers! As much as I love Nsync, I don't even know how to predict their future as a "lasting" band. But, you never know...

...a girl can hope, can't she??? :P

The older people, Like red hot chili peppers, aerosmith, bruce springstein, madonna, all the people I don't like LOL. Well, I respect madonna, but the others I have no emotions towards.

im the same way
i thing(hope) dave matthews band stays around (they already have been around for a little while)

ack! no offense, but i really hope i never hear nsync again (or the other boy bands, for that matter)

I don't think that the "boy bands" have a hope or prayer. NSync among them. I think Dave Matthew's Band will be around that "sound" tends to stay: BNL, DMB, Sugar Ray (they've been around a while), and others will probably be around forever.

DMB, 'cause they've already been around for a while and still have a really strong following!
Matchbox 20, 'cause with Rob Thomas fronting them, they really can't lose.
U2, 'cause they've already been around for a while. They'll keep going til they're all dead.
Counting Crows, 'cause they've also already been around for a while and there are no signs of them stopping anytime soon.
Sting... he's been around for so long already... probably another who will go until death.

No offense, but I highly doubt that any boy band will last for a long time.

the ones that are going to stay i think are probably the ones that have been growing little by little. i mean people like avril lavigne, they've grown too quickly at stardom. then tehy just disappear after one album. the ones from the 1980's and are still popular (like whitney houston?) will probably stay a while longer. the others will probably dry out

I agree! For example, it took a little while before DMB really started becoming popular. Before they became popular, they were scheduled to play a show at Emory University (or is it College? I forgot) and not enough people showed, so they cancelled the show. Now their shows are sold out everywhere.

In that line of thought, I wonder if that means that Jimmy Eat World will be around for a long time... it's taken a long time for them to get radio time for their songs. I hope so... I love them.

ABBA, they've been a hit since 1973. it's 30 years later, and people are still buying their albums and singles. they've inspired so many bands over the years, so i see them staying around.
