Your opinion on Jack...

Overall he's good. Although sometimes he can act selfishly, but his intentions are always good. There is only one thing that keeps this man going: Sydney. He doesn't care what he does - legal or illegal...he will do everything in his power to protect her. Even though their relationship was not on the best of terms when she was growing up, he always loved her. Since he discovered Irina's secret, he had tried to shut himself emotionally. He believed at one point that his emotions nearly drove him to the edge, but now he's soften a bit...and I mean a little bit. Looking back from the 1st season, he's opened up (emotionaslly, that is) so much.

Simply said, he just has an intriguing personally...that's what makes us love him!

When Jack loves someone, he devotes himself to them, and sometimes he goes a little overboard when trying to do what's right for them. He was very devoted to "Laura" when they were married, and look at how he tries to protect Syd.

See, I go back to Syd's line in season two. Will asks good guys or bad guys and Syd says neither, my father. I say he's good, but he has a bad streak to him. I'm really in between on that one.

Some ppl might think that jack is like irina, he works for himslef sort of, but let's face it, he works for the CIA. Jack is motivated by his daughter, he is exprienced and very good at what he does.

he's a good man, as good a person working for the CIA can be i guess. he's made mistakes, but who hasnt? and i think that he gets too carried away and overprotective sometimes, but i love him nonetheless!

the fact that Victor plays him so well is very helpful as well .
