Season 3 The Next Step
I'm not sure if everyone is on the same track but....... I think Lauren was sent in to the picture when Syd went missing to get close to Vaughn in case Sydney contacted him and to be there if/when Sydney came back. She manipulated him into falling in love with her. The people in the car... -

Lauren isn't the chosen one. She doesn't fulfill the prophecy. It would be a cool story though. Vaughn thinks it's his; then the big bang when he finds out...
