Sci-Fi Why Are You A Science Fiction Fan?

The possibilities. In the world of science fiction, the possibilities are quite literally unlimited. Want to write a story about time-travelling space ostriches? Yeah, that'll work in a science fiction universe. How about a planet of life forms that get their nutrition entirely by watching The...

    Random thoughts.... post yours!

Here's something I've wondered about for awhile: during the '90s, when I was a kid, none of the multi-colored food items had any blue food. There were no blue froot loops, blue skittles, blue M&Ms, blue fruity pebbles, blue trix, blue fruit roll-ups...nothing. Then, at some point, blue versions...

Sci-Fi Is it assumed that all ships have some type of anti-gravity device?

Examining your food: a sure-fire way to ruin Taco Bell forever. Talk about an anti-gravity device...

Music What Are You Listening To?

One of my favorite bands is Two Steps from Hell. They write medieval-sounding soundtrack-type music, which they allow people to use in movies, games, etc. for free. Really great stuff to put on while you read or write.

Any Lego Fans In The House?

A few weeks ago, my tabletop RPG group got together to play the Game of Thrones RPG. I brought my legos to design a unique character piece. And the entire session soon devolved into seven twenty-something men laughing like five-year-olds and piecing legos together.

Collectibles What Did You Collect Today?

This'll sound a little weird, but I collect SPAM. Not spam, the junk emails, but SPAM, the meat product. Since it doesn't really go bad, SPAM makes a good collectible. I have cans of bacon SPAM, turkey SPAM, limited-edition cheese SPAM, 75th-anniversary SPAM (only available in 2012), Hawaii...

    NetFlix For Comic Books

I hope so. I'd love to see comic book creators and retailers do more with digital media, not just in terms of selling comics digitally iTunes-style (which they've been doing for a long time), but implementing the Internet to sell comics to people in different ways.

Official Marvel Cinematic Universe RISK Board Game

Looks awesome! I love all the different versions of Risk. Still waiting for Care Bears risk, though...

Sci-Fi Is it assumed that all ships have some type of anti-gravity device?

I've always assumed it had something to do with the same systems that allow the ship's inhabitants to survive in space in the first place (i.e., the same devices providing oxygen to an X-wing pilot and blocking out the vacuum of space are creating a gravity-like environment.) Not to mention...

Fantasy Your Dreams Are Alternate Realities?

I felt like I was getting old when my dreams stopped involving me running from monsters and started involving me running from taxes, employers, etc.

Fantasy Your Dreams Are Alternate Realities?

I tend to see myself in a sort of third-person view in my dreams. I can control my own movements, but I can see myself moving, as if I'm a detached observer. Maybe that comes from watching too much TV or too many movies. I also distinctly remember having a dream where I fought Barney the...

Superheroes DC's The Flash (The CW)

I'm also glad the comic book shows are multiplying. And on Netflix. The industry's really learned how to draw in its fans.

    Halloween!

Right now, Halloween seems like a waste of time, since I've grown too old to trick-or-treat. I trick-or-treated well into college. It's costumes and free candy, after all. Trick-or-treating actually got better as I got older, because by then I had figured out which neighborhoods handed out the...

Nintendo Pokemon Go (Android & iOS)

What I find interesting about Pokemon Go is it's popularly with adults, not just with kids. It wasn't an accident that the initial release included only the 150 Pokemon from the original release. The ones everyone who grew up during the '90s are nostalgic for. I have to admit, I just about wet...
