I have to agree with the quote above. Also, where is badass Sydney. the show is called Alias, yet she hasn't really had a great Alias since the first episode. She is in less and less episodes.

I don't mean to be a bummer but this is by far my least favorite Alias. Yeah, we are back to the same old mystery but there is nothing exciting or creative. What happened to the good old mission of sending Sydney out on crazy missions. This story line just doesn't interest me i nthe least...

So basically Katya sent Sydney to get the music box and see how set up Irina. there was an account number displayed and that account number belonged to Sloan, who paid to have Sydney killed. But Sloan framed Irina. Does that make sense.
