I'm reading Hardboiled Wonderland and The End of The World, by Haruki Murakami. Its not purely SF, but it draws pretty heavily from it, especially cyberpunk. Really surreal and weird, but deeply intriguing. I recommend it.

Its intriguing and depressing at the same time. Makes you think about the limits of our own time on Earth, in the existential sense.

I really like alien designs that don't reflect the human form in any way, and thus seem truly alien and aberrant to us.
