I like a lot of fantasy, but I am getting a bit bored with every second TV show being about Vampires.

Wouldn't their size, and appearance be determined by factors on their planet and evolutionary factors? They could be larger, smaller or the same size. As for physical appearance I think there would be no end to the permatations possible. I would imagine something similar to an opposable thumb...

Many of my favourites have already been mentioned: Starman Aliens Terminator The Thing but one I love is Titan Find starring Klaus Kinski and Wendy Schaal. It was hardly big budget and an Alien rip off, but for some reason I just loved it....

I would agree, but only if their actions weren't being dictated by Star Trek writers.

I watched the first few episodes as my wife and I enjoy this type of show, but neither of us could get into into it. We just felt everything was a bit weak: scripts, characters, etc. But i bet I like stuff others would raise an eyebrow at so please don't take this personally...:p

I wouldn't have thought that you would have to as gravity would do the job for you. I imagine that most, if not all, solar systems would work on the same model as ours and the planets would orbit on very much the same plane and movement (travel) within would be better done outside the plane anyway.

I think there well may be life out there, not as sure if there is intelligent life though? I am even less convinced that we will ever find either due to the vast distances involved. I'm not sure we can look at our own planet and conclude that because life here can survive in all kinds of...
