The Narnia books were wonderful. I've recently read Dragonquest by Donita K. Paul, sequal to Dragonspell. It was pretty good but didn't like it as well as the first.

wow That's great Melissa. I actually hope to meet Neil Gaiman myself at the national book fair in washington on Sept. 24. He will also be at a Borders store near Arlington Virginia the day after for a book signing. I'm so excited to meet him. He's been my favourite author for some years now.

What book or books would you like to see become a major motion picture. I am talking of course of those that stay close to the true storyline of the book. I would love to see "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman as a movie. As far as classics go, "The Stars My Destination" by Alfred Bester would be...

If you could meet any author...

If you could meet and discuss sci-fi/fantasy with any author, who would it be and why? Mine would be Neil Gaiman. The subjects he writes about and how he comes up with this stuff just fascinates me.

    Christian Sci-Fi/Fantasy

Update I have recently read some very good books with a christian world view. Ted Dekker's Circle trilogy (Black, Red, White) was very good. Also "Arena" by Karen Hancock was a pretty descent read as well.

    General Book Talk

Hp I'm not trying to state that the movie and book follow each other exactly, I just can't get into the books but still find the movies entertaining. I agree that the book is almost always better than the movie, no matter what it is.

    Harry Potter vs. LOTR

They both have their positive and their negative quailities but HP is more geared toward children and LOTR is geared to an adult audience.

Whats the worst book you ever read!?

I like Steven King but I could not get through Kujo. I liked The Girl Who Love Tom Gordon, I guess because I like books about the wilderness and such.

    Christian Sci-Fi/Fantasy

I had a hard time believing that books labeled "Chrisian Sci-Fi/Fantasy could be so good, till I read a couple of them. One of the best is called Dragonspell by Donita K. Paul. It is a good book for young and old alike and, although it definatly has christian undertones, it is not directly...
