I believe most of this has been confirmed by Jinnie and Manu. It has also been confirmed that the person who dies was not in the first episode of ALIAS....which rules out Jack, Syd, Dixon, Sloane, Marshall, Vaughn, and Weiss (I think thats it). Which only left (of the main charecters) Sark...

from what JJ said, the reason that Syd would not be reaveled as Sloane's daughter is because he didn't want Sloane to be unfaithful to Emily, being that his honor for her is what brought him to Jack together. I'm thinkin that he wouldn't make Sloane a cheater. *shrugs*
