Memories are our ability to tap into the past.
Dreams are our attempt to make sense of things.
Imagination is our ability to create new worlds
We are never alone.
Even if everything is part of us there is always
that which is not to keep us company.
Tom, what I have learned is a single definition makes sense in a linear reality, but if you're attempting to bridge and understand alternate realities and their influence on our own, not only can you not make the assumption that translations are a one for one, but the concepts they apply to may be completely off.
For instance, take the word "computer". Some cultures on this very planet I come from I have come to realize do not see a physical object as I see it, and quite literally are not capable of differentiating a human mind from that which I call a computer.
Some cultures on this planet 'see' smart phones and devices as being more intelligent than those who use them.
The hispanic culture believes there are two types of timelines, a duality if you will, and they've even labelled them as such 'perfect' and associated tenses, and 'imperfect' - past, present and future.
I also suspect they to not 'see' in the physical sense of the word, and leverage a form of collective image sharing to distribute the imagery of their culture throughout their species.
I know for a fact they do not believe there's a difference between a wall clock and a watch, to which i see starkly different things.
But then again. I see clouds from many perspectives. They can be in the sky, or they can be a logical concept of data organization. Then again, I also believe it's possible they could be one and the same thing and my mind has created differentiation between the logical construct and physical construct.
To me. a dream is and can be many things and changes all the time. They can be an interpretation of the days activity's or a prediction of what's to come. They can be what occurs in alternate realities that my conscious mind here and now needs to integrate or look at. Or they can be the manifestation of my needs. I quote often dream of two women, who appear in my dreams nude frequently - Jackie and Rachel, and to some degree i suspect my mind's merely trying to find a way to manifest these women in the real world.
Imagination to me is what's possible. It can be programmed and structured to allow me - the artist - to work on it as a foundation. It can be freeform - roaming - and without structure. To me, I understand you may think it's your way to create new worlds, to me, it's a part of my internal thoughts and internalized processes which then allow me to shape the outside world.
Your statement asserts a belief I have obtained that the internet is a manifestation of a single perspective of my own imagination. To you, it may be your creative playground. To me, it's a structured outlet with limited creativity. To me, I regard it as a externalization of one slice of the holographic universe. A small container of the infinitely potential whole.
This is not to say you're wrong.
Yours is merely a perspective.
As is mine.
