Music What Are You Listening To?

OK, I'll admit it: I'm an Adele fan.

I'll be most likely picking up her new album, 25, as well when it comes out next month. Not sure yet if from Amazon MP3 like I usually do or from Target since Target's release is supposed to have a few exclusive tracks. The first single, Hello, dropped today.

Sketches of Spain is one of my all time favourite jazz albums by Miles Davis where the music is composed and arranged by the excellent Gil Evans (they made a formidable team). The album was an interpretation of a previously existing classical, Spanish guitar composition (Concierto de Aranjuez). Here is a performance by trumpeter Obert Davis, who does a perfect rendition of "Solea" from the album.

Between @dispatcher54 & @jaguarstigress I'm in the mood for some music today so I'm firing up the Zune at the office. Apparently I haven't plugged it in lately, the battery is dead. :(

New Kid In Town - The Eagles
After the passing of Glenn Frey I went back and listened to nearly all of the Eagles works and his solo stuff I have in my collection. It really is an incredible body of work over the years.

Golden Years - David Bowie, my absolute favorite song from him.
I'm torn between Golden Years being my favorite Bowie song and Heroes. There are times when I find myself doing something in life that has started with me hearing "We can be heroes, just for one day." in my head before taking the plunge.
