Sooo cant remeber book title

hi folks, so sorry, just signed up and first post is a plee for help!! Lol

Started to listen to an audio book bout a year ago and for the love of god i cant remeber what its called!!!

The basics are, its post alien devastation, not too far in future, aliens have left a bit of tech about. Theres our hero, his dogs and a flying bit of tech thats a sort if weapon. Hes out and about, walking the badlands taking care of himself and his dog.

Anyyyyyyy ideas folk???

Are you sure it's a book? There's the old Don Johnson movie from the 70's called "A Boy and his Dog" which is about a barren wasteland US and the relationship between the main character and his telepathic dog.

Nah altho i can see the thinking. This was defo an audio book no idea if it started as tect book etc. Was defo more modern in style as well. Think our hero made the flying ball work eyc and niw uses it as a kivk ass weapon. Everybody wants to eat his dog but all die trying etc! Lol
