    Sci-Fi Blade Runner (1982) & Blade Runner: 2049 (2017)

It is easy to draw lines when the intelligence is artificial. But let's be honest - is a relationship with a pet or a sociopath really any different than one with something slightly less than fully sapient inside a computer? In all three of those cases the other party is not as fully "self...

    Sci-Fi Blade Runner (1982) & Blade Runner: 2049 (2017)

I think Joi continues the tradition of posing a questions about the validity of a character's humanity and then letting the audience debate it rather than tell them. The first movie did that with Deckard and Holden possibly being replicants and not knowing, and 2049 does the same by making Joi...

    Sci-Fi Blade Runner (1982) & Blade Runner: 2049 (2017)

I am very happy the creative team of 2049 wasn't concerned with dumbing it down for people who don't have the interest or attention span to watch SF. Most SF films are terrible, and both Blade Runners are elegant, thought provoking, realistic and engrossing.

Good to know that fantasy no longer exists because of you extensive knowledge of nanotechnology.

Sci-Fi Alien Encounters: Humans Technologically Advanced

Many fantasy stories take place on alternate planets or realms, like Narnia or He-verse. That doesn't mean they are SF. Neither does the existence of technology - like the mechanical owl in Greek mythology, or the choo choo in Polar Express.

MIght as well throw Narnia in there to.

Sci-Fi Alien Encounters: Humans Technologically Advanced

I have a bachelor's degree in film - what do you consider an "expert"? But my main objections are that a) there are only so many SF films, and b) the combination of aliens who are 100% human and contemporary is such an absurd combination that no one would make such a film - or has. Here's an...

Sci-Fi Alien Encounters: Humans Technologically Advanced

I've understood everything you posted, which is why I know that this is a fool's errand. There is no film that qualifies.

What's fantastic about none of those films meeting your requirements?

Sci-Fi Alien Encounters: Humans Technologically Advanced

It still appears that the answer is "zero films". Tom was very specific in that the "aliens" must be genetically identical to humans - not 'humanoid' or similar enough. Superman is not human in his biology, neither is the Man Who Fell or the Brother from another planet. All have notable and...

Object at Rest Never Actually at Rest

Well, yeah. That's just one of the many reasons why Newtonian physics has not been considered accurate for over a century. They are approximations useful for their simplicity. You're arriving rather late to the party to "disprove" something that is no longer physics.

    Sci-Fi What Genre Is Frankenstein?

You can't talk about genre and switch between movie and book interpretations. "Young Frankenstein" is a comedy. Source material can be treated as nearly any category depending on the intentions of the director - look at the satirical "Starship Troopers". "Drama" is not a genre in the same way...

Who are the alien humans in Edge of Tomorrow?

Sci-Fi Alien Encounters: Humans Technologically Advanced

You are rude. And your query is stupid - there are only so many SF films ever produced, and it is easy to find lists of them that you could read through in a few minutes. Do you think there is some hidden trove of movies you can't find with a google search, so you feel it necessary to start this...

Sci-Fi Want a definition of these where they coexist.

That sounds like a religious belief. LOL.

So if any AI becomes self aware all those things automatically happen?
