18 or Older

The best thing about not living in the US is the fact you don't have to wait until you're 21 to drink! I've had an extra 3 years, and by the time I was 21 I had already worked in a bar for 2 years!

PLEASE don't say 21 is old. :( I must be well overdue to be sorting out my retirement package!

^Of course, there are so many ways around that ;) But it is nice to be legal...

I'm 22 and hardly old!

Of course, everywhere I work, I am surrounded by people who are older - so I'm constantly reminded that I'm the young one

Wow, I think I'm one of the oldest people here!

I can't imagine having to wait until I was 18 to drink. It's not neccessarily about getting really drunk, but more about socialising. At 18 you are an adult, and yet you can't go for drinks after work with your colleagues. What happens if you get married before you are 21? I know people who did. Are you allowed to have champagne at your wedding reception?

Just curious...

18 now, 19 in November.

Yeah, its weird how in the US you have to be 21 to be able to be drink. When I went over to America last year I kept on thinking 'but I'm an adult in Australia! I just turned 18'.
