Politics 2024 United States Presidential Election

So... what are thoughts on the 2024 election?

Forgetting for a moment the Trump circus, I'm surprised really that Biden is going to run again. With the 2020 election I think a lot of people who voted for Biden did so assuming that he'd bow out of a second term and let Harris be on the ticket. Harris, though, seems to have been mostly invisible since the election and wouldn't come close to having the momentum behind her to carry the ticket to a win.

Well, I think we can all assume this one will be appealed to the Supreme Court.

I guess if Biden runs again he has my vote. I try not to watch the news because the world and this country has gone crazy. I don't know the candidates or people running yet. Who have thrown their hat in the ring.

On the Dem' side, it's really only Biden & Harris. There were a few people who said they'd run but there was never a chance of any of them getting traction.

On the GOP side it's Trump in the lead with Haley and DeSantis way behind.

Trump is going back to his usual bag of tricks, now he's trying the 'birther' conspiracy stuff with Haley by claiming she's not eligible even though she was born in the US to parents who were naturalized citizens.

Well, this has been an interesting week in American politics! 👀

Conspiracy theories aside, this week will most likely push Trump ahead of Biden in the polls and now Biden's campaign is actually stopping a lot of their ads temporarily.

The US really does need to get rid of the two-party system, it simply no longer works.

time for the first women president!!
That should've been Clinton but at the time calling Trump's cult "deplorables" was controversial. Politics have certainly changed since then in regards to what is considered to be a controversy or not. 😳

Today Trump is saying that he might skip the debate with Harris. Did anybody expect him to show up? 🤣
What I'm surprised at, if I've understood the news correctly, is that he wants the mics to be muted and Harris wants hot mics. I would've thought for sure it be the other way. 🤔

Surprised Biden's running again—Harris's low visibility makes me wonder if she'll gain enough momentum to carry the ticket.
That's something I've been surprised at the past few years. With the 2020 election a lot of people I know who voted Biden/Harris did so knowing that Biden likely wouldn't run again (or, not to be morbid, be around to run again) and that Harris would be the 2024 ticket but Harris was basically sitting out the past four years barely making any ripples. Now that she is the ticket, she has a lot catching up to do with letting people know where she stands.
