As we pulled into the driveway, I dreaded all of the messages that would be

on our answering machine. Michael smiled, and we kissed. "Michael, help me take

my stuff in," I said. "I will sweety, but you're going to have to start calling me Vaughn

again when we go back to work." "Yeah, I will," I replied.

We carried our things into my house and found a note on the table from Fran that said:

Syd,

Hi Hope you had a great time, Will and I are out for dinner, be back late

Love,
Fran

Syd crumpoled up the note and her and she and Vaughn brought all of her things

into her room. Afterwards, her and Michael decided to listen to her messages together.

She picked up her cell phone and listened to her voice mail. Sure enought, there were

7 messages from Kendall about all of the things that happened at the Agency while

they were gone. She also had a few other ones about some personal business.

"Your other boyfriend?" Vaughn said teasingly.

3 Weeks Later

As I was coming home from work one day, I knew something was wrong.

After returning home, from the store that night, I found out what it was.

It was late, and I really didn't want to wake Michael up, but I knew I had to tell him.

So, I got into the car and drove to Michael's house. I was very worried.

*I know it's short, but I wanted to end this chapter with the cliffhanger. :smiley:

Vaughn's Viewpoint

"What do you want Syd?" I asked sleepily. It was 10:00 and I was dozing off

while watching the end of a Kings game, when Syd had come in through the front door

looking worried. "Vaughn, I need to tell you something." she said, her voice shaking.

"What's the matter, Syd?"

"Well, it's hard for me to go into details, so I should just say it, but..Vaughn, I'm pregnant."

I was listening, but half asleep until Syd said the word pregnant. "Oh..wow, Syd..jeez.." was

all I could mumble out of my mouth. Syd looked into my eyes. I loved her, her vibrant smile,

her soft brown eyes, everything about her, but a child..our child..it was just too much right now.

We were already so busy trying to find time together. I cleared my throat and said, "Are you..sure?"

Syd nodded, and my heart sank. We weren't even married yet, and now we'd have

to worry about a wedding plus a baby. Then Syd did something I didn't expect, she just

burst out crying. I took her into my arms and held her tight.

The next morning we were both late for work, and Kendall was briefing

us about a mission to get to Sloane. It seemed to drag on forever, but when he finally stopped,

he took me aside.

"Agent Vaughn, I know something's wrong, do you wanna tell me what's distracting

you and Sydney?" I hadn't talked to Syd about who we were going to tell and when, so I said

nothing except, "No sir, we're fine, thanks." I knew we'd have to tell him soon enough, though.

We were assigned on a mission to Turkey, and during it we got into combat, we snuck out

quickly with a disk that the CIA needed, and knocked out some guards on the way out. It was a

simple mission, but I knew Syd shouldn't be fighting while a baby was growing inside of her.

I could tell her fighting was getting worse. At one point she fell, and I had to help her up and

knock out a guard coming straight towars us. "You have to take a break from the Agency, and tell

Kendall you're pregnant, Syd, I care about you, and each mission you push yourself through,

you endanger the life of you and your child. Now if you don't tell Kendall that you're pregnant, I will."

Syd sighed as they walked back to the CIA, "I guess that was

my last mission, she said."

"You can come back once you have your baby if you still want too."

"Our baby," Sydney corrected him, and they kissed.

The next day, as soon as work started I took a deep breath, and stood up,

"I have something to say," I said to all of the people in the room. There was

Kendall, Dixon, her father, Marshall, and a few other agents, plus Vaughn.

Everyone was looking at me waiting for what I had to say.

"I-I'm going to ask for a leave for about a year." Everyone

stared at me.

"A year? Why are you leaving the CIA for a year?"

Kendall asked, obviously not happy.

"Because..I..I"m well actually, I'm pregnant." I said and slowly sat back down.

Vaughn looked over at me and gave me a weak smile. Nobody really said

anything for a moment, until finally Kendall said, "Alright..see you in a

year Ms. Bristow and good luck with everything." I got up, my legs a little shaky,

and walked out of the CIA

~~~
"No...Trevor's too..I dunno I just don't like it, " Vaughn told me. I laughed,
"Fine, fine, but what if it's a girl?" I said. "Hmm..how about, Traci?"
"Why don't we get off the T's for awhile."
We had been thinking of names the whole
afternoon, when we should have been getting ready for the wedding. It was,
after all in 2 weeks, and we had barely planned at all. All we knew was that
we wanted a small wedding.
"Well, we can find out today if it's a boy or a girl,
do you wanna know?" I asked Michael.
"Well, it would make name deciding
much easier, " he said. I agreed. "Well, I"m going into work, call me when you
know!" he said. I nodded, we kissed, and then went our seperate ways.
~~~

"Alright, Ms. Brisow, we know what sex your child is, would you like to know?"

the doctor asked me. I smiled and said yes, "All right your baby is a ------"

**hehehe, I know it's pretty short again, but I love stopping at cliffhangers.
The next chapter will be really long, I promise!** :D
