New Update, I dunno about this chap, i mean i like it but it's a bit corny...just well ehh, whatever, you can tell me after you read it k?
Chapter 12
Vaughn had barely driven into the school’s car park when Sydney walked out the front doors, with a troubled look on her face, Vaughn noticed.
Vaughn got out of the car and walked up to her, she just dove straight in and wrapped her arms around him before he even noticed, he then reacted by wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close.
“Hey, whats up” he started
“Nothing…”
“Syd…”
“Well it’s just…uh…look don’t worry about it now ok…I will talk to you about it, but lets just go have lunch first k?” she looked up at him and smiled a hopeful smile
Vaughn couldn’t say no to her, but he was definitely worried. He just nodded, took her hand, and led her to the car where he opened her door, and then walked around the other side.
The drive to the little café was silent but not uncomfortable, both were thinking almost the exact same thing. That they were relieved that they had found someone who they could feel completely comfortable around but not have to say a word, the only real difference in their thoughts was that Vaughn was wondering how soon is too soon to know if a person is your soul mate.
When they got to the café they sat down and ordered, still silence between the couple. After about 7 mins 12 seconds, Vaughn got tired of waiting for her to talk,
“Ok, Syd…you gotta tell me what’s wrong”
She just sighed, and Vaughn hoped he hadn’t been too harsh.
“Ok, but really its nothing…ok…just before I left the school, Cameron….”
Vaughn’s ears perked up at the mention of his son, not literally, but he was now worried about what his son may have said, knowing full well of how sneaky his little 7 year old could be.
“Cameron and I…” she continued “were talking and he just asked me a question that kinda left me unsettled”
Vaughn frowned, a little upset with his son. Sydney, sensing this immediately started an explanation.
“No, it was nothing really that bad, it was a perfectly good 7 year old question, he just asked me if I was….” She paused
“…asked you what?” Vaughn asked anxiously.
“He asked me if I was going to be his new mommy”
“He didn’t” Vaughn gasped
Sydney just nodded
Just then a thought occurred to Vaughn…
“and what did you say back?” he asked
“I said I didn’t know, and I asked him if he wanted a new mommy”
“Does he?”
“Yeah”
“wow…” Vaughn was shocked, he had no idea that Cam wanted a mom, a new mom.
“but, “ she began
Vaughn snapped out of his thoughts
“That’s not really why I was upset”
“It’s not?”
“No, I was upset, because I wanted to say yes”
Vaughn smiled
“Really?”
“Yep, but I can’t, I’m not ready to be a mom, well I don’t know”
“Hey, don’t worry about that now ok”
“Ok”
Just then the food was brought out and they ate again in silence, another comfortable silence.
When Vaughn dropped Sydney back at the school, he asked if he could walk her up to the door, and she gladly accepted.
They held hands and walked close together, a perfect romantic moment although Sydney slipped in a puddle and would’ve fallen onto her back except Vaughn caught her.
He pulled her up to his chest and held her, as she was in shock.
“Vaughn…”
“Yeah…”
“I think I’m falling for you”
Vaughn laughed
“I can see that”
She giggled and looked up at him
“I know, me too” he said.
They said goodbye, and both returned to work.
