I think one thing is for sure we reflect in some way shape or form on the lives we have lived and are judged in some way whether that be us judging ourselves or a God judging us. We reflect on the lessons learned and the purposes and then the next step is based on the life we have led and the reflection we have done.

I think that has always sounded plausible to me, plus other religions all say similar things in one way or another.
