Alias Theme Party

My wife is turning 30 and we are both HUGE fans of Alias. So, I thought I would make that the theme (Spies, Espionage, CIA, etc.) of her surprise birthday party.
• Party is in a banquet hall at a local hotel
• I'm making fake CIA badges, and maybe Covenant security badges, to use as name tags.
• We're looking into getting some cheapo black sunglasses for the guests.
• A friend is delivering "Top Secret" mission documents to lead her to the party (fake CIA stationery)
• I'm thinking of designating a couple of guys as Security Detail and have them come in dark suits w/sunglasses, give them a walkie-talkie to notify me when she arrives, then escort her conspicuously to the banquet hall.

I don't know what to do about the cake. Any ideas? Also, any additional ideas for the party? Looks like it will be 40-50 people.

Thanks,

Rambaldy

Wow that is such a great idea! It sounds like it will be fun! So i dont know what to do with the cake, maybe one of syds disguises, sorry i know lame! The party sounds like a blast! You have to come back and tell us how it went! ;)

if you go to bakeries, they might have this scanner type thing where you scan a pic and it comes out as an ediable cake deisgn. you could scan like the cia emblem or s/v or a pic of the cast.

Have people come in wigs in your party
blue wigs & red wigs for waiters & waitress

make sue you guys wear old watches that do not work

Great Theme!

Best,
Ritzy

I thought about doing it with the Rambaldi symbol, but I was afraid most people wouldn't get it.

I'm not really kean on having a photo reproduced. I want the party to be really slick. Maybe I should just have "Happy Birthday <firstname>" or "Happy Birthday Agent <lastname>" in the Alias font. I have the font on my Mac.

Colored hair is good idea. Wigs may be tough to pull off (actually they're usually easy to pull off), but I know some of the guests have that colored hair spray in fluorescent pink & green.

Great ideas so far. I'll check when I get back to the office tomorrow to see if there's any other ideas.

THANKS!

oooh! the rambaldi idea is much better than mine! i had been thinking of a pic i found on sd-1 that is syd with her supa swank glasses on, and the pic says "Supa Swank" ...its pretty cool.
however, since you are having a very CIA, that prob wouldn't ... match

the alias theme is an EXCELLENT idea! and i don't think it'd be important if other people don't get it...its a special alias thing anyways

yeah the party theme's a GREAT idea!! it sounds like a ton of fun! and i hope everyone has a great time! oh, and if you have the soundtrack, you could play it in the background.

Umm, inviting US would be nice!!!

Hey, of course you're all invited!

Found some 90¢ black sunglasses (thank God for Target)
Gonna do "Happy Birthday <firstname>" plus <o> Rambaldi symbol
Checking with hotel about amplified music
Think I'll let the guests create their own alias for their name badge
I'm going to relay her mission objectives in front of everyone, her mission to be a "30 year old undercover as a twenty-something." She is the perfect candidate for this mission since she looks so young and energetic.
Got the fake CIA stationery designed

Had the party and it was a blast! I played Deputy Director of the CIA and presented the briefs for each of her three missions. I used an overhead projector to show Agent/Suspect profiles, as well as an authentic looking Rambaldi document. I'll see if I can get some photos and captions on my website and show you guys what we did.

Her three missions were pivotal in uncovering the Covenant's "Project 30." She found a Rambaldi document which gave us some clues to a device, then she rescued Agent Bristow from a holding cell (stairwell), found the three "keys" to unlock the power of the Rambaldi device (one from Agent Bristow and two from the double-agent who had abducted Sidney: (2) CDs and (1) key to our minivan), then she went to our minivan and used the key to discover the Rambaldi device (a medium-sized, heavy box wrapped in plain brown paper with Rambaldi symbols on it. She returned to the room and unveiled the CD changer she's been asking to receive for years. She had time between missions and about 45 minutes after the game to just talk with friends and family.

I had a friend that played a great Marshall Flinkman. He gave her some tools for her missions: a 5 Gigapixel camera with autolight adjustment disguised as a 35mm disposable camera; a fiber optic blue wig with a wireless router that would transport her picture of the Rambaldi document to Langley; and an electromagnetic lock-picking set disguised as a set of allen wrenches, which she would use to free Agent Bristow.

Her cake said:

Happy Birthday
3 <o> 0
Agent Staiger

Everybody seemed to have fun. It was a little pricey, but well worth it. She'll remember this birthday party for the rest of her life.

Thanks for your help guys.
