Space Asteroid mining by 2015?

So, a private enterprise named 'Deep Space' have announced that they aim to commence the mining of near-Earth asteroids in 2015. The great thing is their ships will be called Fireflies, but who actually thinks this will happen?

There are a lot of things that should be accomplished by now, but the earth is not at peace, and there is too much turmoil. It seems every step forward, there are 10 steps backwards, heck by now we should have high tech lunar landers, deep space probes and the like, butttt, too many problems out there. This is precisely why we have sci-fi so we can dream....
