We reported yesterday that AUSA (starring Scott Foley, Alias star Jennifer Garner's ex) might be saved if Heather Locklear agreed to join the cast. It appears she has passed it over as today The Futon Critic reports that Heather Locklear has rejected the series.

Locklear Passes on NBC's 'A.U.S.A.,' Looks at 'Miami'
By Brian Ford Sullivan

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) - Make no mistake, NBC wants Heather Locklear on its fall schedule. The problem: they just can't quite get her there.

After test audiences reportedly rejected the former "Spin City" star's comedy pilot "Once Around the Park" for the network, NBC approached the actress about joining its struggling midseason comedy "A.U.S.A." next season. Various sources indicate however that Locklear passed on the offer after viewing tapes of the series.

Now it seems NBC is trying to match the actress up with another struggling Peacock comedy: "Good Morning, Miami." Locklear is set to meet with producers of the sitcom on Friday with a decision expectedly shortly thereafter.

The news more than likely spells the end of "A.U.S.A." with "Miami's" fate now also in the hands of Locklear.

Well, I guess AUSA had it coming.
