Even being the BBC's biggest show, and facing cutbacks that have seen some hand wringing and changes to scripts to save money on props, they are pushing forwards with a big screen outing to make money globally.

A gamble that they won't be able to travel back in time and resolve for sure!

I think it is a mistake to set the movie in its own universe rather than the canon BBC series.
