Bradley Cooper will receive the ShoWest 2009 Comedy Star of the Year Award, it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, co-managing director of the event, which will be held March 30-April 2, 2009, in Las Vegas. Cooper will be presented with the ShoWest Comedy Star of the Year Award at ShoWest's Final Night Banquet and Award Ceremony on Thursday, April 2nd, at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas.

"Ever since bursting onto the big screen as Rachel McAdams' hard-driven fiancé in 2005's 'Wedding Crashers,' Bradley Cooper has firmly established himself as one of today's major comedic talents," noted Neuhauser. "He has rapidly become one of Hollywood's leading funny men as most recently evidenced in 'Yes Man' and the breakout hit 'He's Just Not That Into You.' ShoWest is honored to be able to recognize Bradley Cooper as its 2009 Comedy Star of the Year."

Cooper can be seen this summer starring in the, comedy "The Hangover," opening June 12. Two days before his wedding, Doug (Justin Bartha) and his three friends (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis) drive to Las Vegas for a blow-out bachelor party they'll never forget. But, in fact, when the three groomsmen wake up the next morning, they can't remember a thing. They find a tiger in the bathroom and a six-month-old baby in the closet of their suite. The one thing they can't find is Doug. With little time to spare, the trio must retrace their hazy steps and all their bad decisions in order to figure out where things went wrong and hopefully get Doug back to L.A. in time to walk down the aisle.

Cooper is quickly becoming one of Hollywood's busiest actors. In addition to "The Hangover," he stars in four more films that are also scheduled for release in 2009: "All About Steve," a quirky tale in which he stars with Sandra Bullock; and the anthology film "New York, I Love You," in a segment directed by Allen Hughes. He was most recently seen in the hit romantic comedy "He's Just Not That Into You," with an all-star ensemble cast, and "Yes Man," with Jim Carrey. His earlier film credits include "Failure to Launch" and "Wedding Crashers." Cooper is also well known to television audiences for his work on several hit series, including a recent recurring role on the critically acclaimed series "Nip/Tuck." In 2006, Cooper made his Broadway debut in the play "Three Days of Rain," opposite Julia Roberts and Paul Rudd.
