They've been working on it for a few years now, trying to get a production team together and a good script. Recently, Peter Berg dropped as director, and Pierre Morel (Taken, From Paris With Love) stepped in, bringing a new writer who will be starting from scratch. My question is, "Can it be good?" Of all the sci-fi I have read, Dune is one of the more complex, layered plots. Herbert created an entire universe, with so much history, and so many sub-plots that he wove together brilliantly. Can a movie encapsulate what the book was truly about, or are we in store for yet another movie that is the equivalent of a rock skipping across the top of the water?
