He may be best known for starring in Two and a Half Men, but Charlie Sheen now has one giant problem on his hands.

The actor has been arrested for second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief. Sheen was picked up in Aspen for an alleged incident of domestic violence against wife Brooke Mueller.

While the police may claim Sheen celebrated Christmas by honoring Chris Brown, his rep says otherwise:

"Do not be mislead by appearance. Appearance and reality can be as different as night and day. It would benefit everyone not to jump to any conclusion."

Sheen - who has been accused of sleeping with hookers, beating up dogs and keeping pornography on his computer while married to Denise Richards - is being held without bond.

He'll remain in jail until Monday, due to a Colorado law that requites a protection order between those arrested for domestic violence and their victims.

Sheen and Mueller got married in May 2008 and welcomed twins in October of that year.

** UPDATE: It's been confirmed that Mueller called 911 and claimed her husband laid his hands on her - but Sheen told cops that Mueller was the aggressor and he was simply trying to keep her away.

Brooke Mueller Recants Assault Allegations, Charlie Sheen Out on Bail

Charlie Sheen has been released from prison.

The actor posted $8,500 bond last night, following a significant update to the assault charges leveled against him.

Immediately prior to the bail hearing, wife Brooke Mueller recanted her story to a Colorado police officer. She said she was drunk when she dialed 911 (her blood alcohol test at the time measured a whopping .13) and reportedly backed up Sheen's story that he was merely defending himself.

Still, authorities will pursue charges against the Two and a Half Men star for now.

Sheen has hired Colorado attorney Richard Cummins and his next court date is schedule for February 8.

Charlie Sheen Unleashed, Unhinged: Police Affidavit Details Actor's Alleged Threats

Brooke Mueller 911 call appears to be damaging enough evidence against Charlie Sheen, as the actor awaits a February 8 hearing regarding assault charges against him.

But that's almost nothing compared to an affidavit written by Colorado police officer Rick Magnuson, who was on the Christmas Eve scene at the Sheen's rented Aspen residence. In the document, Magnuson says Sheen held a knife to Mueller's throat and threatened her life.

In disturbing detail, this is how the officer recounts went down at the home:

- When cops arrived, Sheen was in a bedroom and Mueller was in the kitchen.
- Magnuson accompanied Sheen into the basement, where the latter explained his recent marital problems and said his wife "abuses alcohol."
- The argument started at 3:30 a.m. because Mueller grew jealous when Sheen "shared a song for his daughter whom he fathered with another woman."
- The actor said she threatened to divorce him and take the kids.
- Both sides screamed and slapped, according to Sheen, who admitted to breaking his wife's glasses in front of her. He said he never pushed, hit or used a knife against her.
- Sheen admitted he possessed a four-inch knife that was on the premises. When Magnuson discovered it inside Sheen's bag, the blade was unlocked in the "open" position.
- Mueller confirmed that she and Sheen argued and that she mentioned a divorce. At that, she said Sheen grabbed her by the upper part of her throat while straddling her on the bed, pulled out a knife, held it to her throat and said: "You better be in fear. If you tell anybody, I'll kill you... I have ex-police I can hire who know how to get the job done and they won't leave any trace."
- Magnuson observed "red marks on the upper part of the front of her neck" and took Sheen into custody.

Veteran singer Van Morrison, 64, has become a father for the fourth time, joining a long list of celebrities, including Mick Jagger and Michael Douglas, who became parents later in life.

The Belfast-born singer's partner and manager, Gigi Lee, gave birth to George Ivan Morrison III on Monday, Morrison announced on his website.

The statement described "Little Van" as "the spitting image of his daddy."

The child is a dual citizen of the United Kingdom and the United States, the statement added.

Morrison's publicist, Phil Lobel, told the London Daily Mail that the notoriously private singer has not divulged where his son was born.

Morrison, whose career has spanned 45 years, has a 39-year-old daughter, singer-songwriter Shana Morrison, from his first marriage to Janet Minto.

He also has two children with his ex-girlfriend, former Miss Ireland Michelle Rocca.

Born George Ivan Morrison in Belfast in 1945, Morrison shot to fame in the mid-1960s as lead singer of the Northern Ireland band Them, with which he recorded his classic song Gloria.

His career took off as a solo artist with the 1967 release of the single Brown Eyed Girl.

Morrison was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 but declined to attend the ceremony.

Brooke Mueller Wants to Save Marriage, Move on From "Bad Night," Lawyer Says

On the other hand, perhaps Brooke Mueller does not want to divorce Charlie Sheen.

A few hours after an anonymous source said the end of this couple's marriage was definitely a possibility, a more reliable insider tells a different story.

Mueller has hired criminal defense lawyer Yale Galanter, who represented OJ Simpson for years, to represent her. Earlier today, he said to People:

"Brooke and Charlie are very passionate about each other, they love each other and want to try and save their marriage. They had a bad night and want to get beyond it. They want to try and resolve their issues."

Responding to allegations that his client recanted her side to police, Galanter said she instead "[minimized] her story, like many wives in a similar situation do, when they realize their husband could go to jail."

The attorney has filed documents to alter the protection order put in place by Colorado police.

He says Mueller is anxious to reconnect with Sheen because "they have absolutely gorgeous little babies and will do all they can to work out their problems."

Van Morrison is not the father of a baby boy; hacker posted false claim on singer's Web site

It sounds more like something from April's Fools Day than New Year's Eve, but Van Morrison now says the holiday stories about him having a new baby boy are pure hooey.

Two days ago, Morrison's Web site posted a message announcing the birth of his new son, George Ivan Morrison III.

Yet, on the eve of the New Year the singer says the message was hacked onto his site by an unknown prankster, according to the Belfast Telegraph.

In a statement, the 64-year-old legend said the claims of him being a new father are "completely and utterly" unfounded.

The posting has since been taken down.

The original statement claimed Morrison's touring producer, Gigi Lee, had given birth to the boy, and that the son was "the spitting image of his daddy."

"Claims were made relating to my personal life in a 'statement' purporting to come from me," Morrison said in a statement. "The comments which appeared on my Web site did not come from me. They are....without foundation.

"For the avoidance of all doubt, and in the interest of clarity," he continued, "I am very happily married to Michelle Morrison, with whom I have two wonderful children."

The star added that Tuesday's fake announcement was the second time his Web site had been hacked into in the last three months.

"I have asked my management team to carry out an immediate investigation," Morrison said.

Actor Rip Torn Arrested Drunken Bank Break In

Very strange. I know he's had problems with drunkeness, but to break into a bank and be carring a gun is unbelievable. He is 78 years old too.

This is a cry for 'help'. So sad to be so messed up at his age.

Rip Torn Arrested For Alleged Bank Break-In

SALISBURY, Conn. --
Rip Torn was arrested on Friday night for an alleged break-in attempt at a Connecticut bank, the state police department confirmed to Access Hollywood.

According to a statement from state police, the actor, whose real name is Elmore Torn, was charged with carrying a firearm without a permit, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, first-degree burglary, first-degree trespassing and third-degree criminal mischief following an alleged forced entry at a Litchfield Bancorp building in Salisbury, Conn. His alleged break-in set off an alarm at approximately 9:42 PM and he was arrested shortly thereafter when troopers from Connecticut State Police Troop B arrived on the scene.

Police further stated that Torn was in possession of a loaded revolver at the time of the arrest.

He was held on a $100,000 bail and is scheduled for a February 1 court date.

A rep for the star did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Access.

The arrest was not his first — he has faced a number of DUI charges, including a December 2008 arrest that produced a now infamous, wild-haired mug shot.

The Oscar-nominated actor, best known for his role as Artie on “The Larry Sanders Show,” has most recently appeared on screen on NBC’s “30 Rock” as Don Geiss, the boss of Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin), and in the films “Happy Tears” and “August.”
