Computer problem...

Ok, I'm having a problem with my computer. I'm missing my desktop icons AND the start bar thing. I have no idea what happened! I've tried using the right click thing but that won't come up either. I tried the system restore but that didn't help either. I've been navigating around using the Windows Task Manager.
Please help if you know how!

thats definetely a problem with explorer.exe i think. try typing "explorer.exe" into the "Run" box and see what happens. it's either explorer.exe or explore.exe... sorry i'm not so good.

right click and go to arrange and click on show desktop icons i am not sure what to do about the start bar see if that works hopes it helps

I had this same problem happen on my extra machine. First try to boot into safe mode (F8 when the BIOS is loading) and update and scan for viruses. Next run your favorite spyware removing program. Now I don't remember exactly what is going on with this, but its a virus or worm that runs off another program and affects explorer.exe. It will not run while in safe mode. So if you can't remove it while in safe mode, back up you important stuff and reload.
