We have achieved the second power of ten in strength! {10X10} A celebration! An Anniversary! Requesting entry on calendar. Next power of ten is 1000.{10X10X10} Anyone care to try and guess that date.
To start us off I say : October 22, 2008 or BeFore. Only 900 to go.

:eek::worthy::eek:

I had to check some quick stats to make sure that I was interpreting the above correctly. :P Turns out that in the past 24 hours we hit 100 users! :cool:

And I'm hoping to hit that 1000 mark before the end of 2005. ;)

OK, I just added a poll to the thread...... After you make your vote post your estimated date in this thread -- Whomever comes closest will get a nice prize sent to them. :D

Kind of hard to guesstimate without a bit of backgroound info. How long did it take to get the first 100??
Cool SciFi was reborn this past summer out of the ashes of FarpointStation.org so I'd say about 2 months. :eek:

Whoa! Thats not too shabby!! :smiley:

What happened to Farpoint?? Wait! Never mind, I'll bet it was the swarm wasnt it?? ;)

No, no swarm. :P I ran FarpointStation.org for years as my personal site. The content was done either statically or through the Coranto CGI script. When I added the forums in the summer of 2004 (didn't have any forums before) I felt that the name kind of restricted us in that people would associate the site only to Trek. So, a new name change went into place (the old farpointstation.org domain points to coolscifi.com now) and then around Christmas time the new style was introduced as well.

Farpoint still lives on as for my email and some other side projects but as a web site it is no more. Viva la Farpoint, long live Farpoint! :D
